Dear friends,
Sorry I am a new to FTA , Is it possible to receive HGTV channel on Ku band ?
Thanks !

Serge

Welcome to SatelliteGuys Serge.
Like Ice said there is nothing at this time.

On ktv 2 has some programs from diy maybe from hgtv but save the money and watch create from pbs. It has similar programs.

I've never seen HG 'open up' (FTA) even for a short time.
Concur with PBS on 125W. DVB-S2 receiver w/ a 90 cm dish. (think that's a minimum now but bigger is better)
PBS is a good substitute, unless you're a 'house flippin' addict. No house flippin on PBS. But there is cooking, home remodeling/updating, Also some programming for motorheads. And more.

Also off topic, but hint for the cheap-minded like me: lots of stuff on Netflix (if you have decent streaming in your area) just appeared start of the year from HGTV and Food Network.

Thanks for all who answered!
Oh well, no HGTV, but I am still very interested in FTA, and would like to try it :)
Could somebody recommend good starting system (receiver + antenna & LNB)
Thanks in advance,
Serge

Receiver: Amiko Mini HD SE, excellent receiver under $100
Dish: Get a good 90cm dish.
LNBF: Titanium PLL-1KS

Check eBay.

Hello again,
Another question:
Where I can find a file (for example in PDF format or other)) with a master list of KU Band sats (in North America) and programs available ?
Thanks!

Thank You very much!

More questions :) What to buy for a beginner : "offset satellite or prime focus dish" ?

Depends. Offset dishes are usually under 4ft across and intended for Ku (11700 -12000 Mhz)
Most common sizes for Ku FTA start around 30 inch up to 48 inch.
Prime focus, the BUDs, are 6 ft and up in diameter and intended for C band (3700 - 4200 Mhz)
Most prized are the 10 ft. Some use smaller, some use bigger.
Under 10 ft size can run into problems with interference from adjacent satellites.
As do offset dishes, on Ku, under 36 inch.
Many prime focus dishes also perform well on Ku with precise set up and aiming.
Some are Mini or Micro BUD(ing) - seeing what will come in on C band using a Ku offset dish.
Definitely not recommended as an entry point to the hobby.
As for all dishes performance- BIGGER - is better.
