How does Voom decide if they'll upgrade your dish to a larger size. I called in to complain about rain fade in the recent storms here in L.A. and the CSR has scheduled an installer to come out Friday "to evaluate" the upgrading to a larger dish.

Well unless he comes out in the pouring rain, he won't see any sign of rain fade. How do they "evaluate" the need? Anyone know?

If you live in the west especially in California or Seattle, I believe you will automatically qualify for an upgrade. But to make your case, just tell them that you are getting massive rain fade due to the weather heavy rains. Let them know that it has happened more than once.

Here in Seattle I kept a log. When I got around to calling our ZIP code was already designated for "automatic" upgrades but I don't think we'd have gotten it without a call. Hope they were to busy installing new customers!

However, now enjoying virtually rainfadeless HDTV currently...

under clear, cloudless and rainless (how long until we get a drop of water?!) Seattle skies, Gill
