Have safe flight home scott and cant wait to hear what you thought of ces and dish hopper and joey especially and ty and to everyone that was there helpinig from this forum :)

Is the picture showing the rear view of a unit the Hopper or the Joey?

Interesting seeing the Joey's "tail-side". Would the USB port be available for the OTA dongle? Also, would the Ethernet port allow the Joey be connected without coax, just the Home LAN?

The ethernet posts on the Joey boxes will NOT be active upon release nor at release will you be able to plus a USB hard drive into the Joey and be able to access it as an EHD on the entire network.

However that is something that is coming in the future. So at the moment, the HOPPER BOX is the one that is sending everything.

Also please remember (and I seen this falsely reported at other sites) the Hopper has a total of 3 USB ports (not 2)

3 USB ports ... that is good to hear. One for WiFi, One for EHD, One for Sling. In a perfect world, it would have one more for OTA.

SO, I'm inferring from this that you will be able to access your EHD from your Joey(s)?

I think I heard "hopper" is a nickname the Australians use for kangaroo. Hence the kangaroo logo. A joey is a nickname for a baby kangaroo.

Might be.If you watch "Crocodile Dundee" at the part where Paul Hogan(he's Australian) makes the dead kangaroo shoot at the poachers,he then says afterwards"Good Job,Skippy".;)

So, if my router is in the bedroom, I can't hook up the Hopper/Joey system via ethernet to the Joey in the bedroom upon release, but at some point I will be able to?

One concern I would have moving from my ViP receivers to the Hopper/Joey solution would be my EHDs from my 722 and 211. I'm willing to bet that I will lose at least one collection of archived materials...

The 722 stuff would be fine but not sure about the 211 stuff. Can you watch stuff from the 211 on the 722?

If you have 2 hoppers (6 tuners), can you watch content from EITHER hopper on a hopper connected set? Is the record schedule coordinated between the hoppers?
