Could not find that's why i'm posting.

After the show tonight i call dish about my customer own third hopper not downloading the latest software it would not take a hit. After some time i just asked will you just replace the darn thing. The nice tech said sure why not.

Ok so i got the email "Return Not Required" So does mean that the replacement will be leased or purchased status? I wonder if i do have to return? When i had a leased hopper replaced it said "Return Required"
 
I'm sure they would like the dead receiver back and will send you a new owned receiver. Contact DIRT just in case so they can check and fix it if you're being sent a leased receiver.

Lol yes not sending back a hopper will result in a bill like this one i got last month. What a deal they doubled the price plus charge $24 in tax. Can we say Amex charge back time lol. I sent it back should have right away.

It just will not take a hit so no TV. Not looking for any software ver just a working hopper.

I have a Dp44 with single dish's pointed at 61.5 72 77.

This hopper is in the back garage so I have another dp44 cascade off the 1st hooked up with a solo node. I replaced my 211 with this hopper which was NIB.

Yes everything else works fine.

Sorry Satellite Nation Scott was on tonight and said call advance tech support and they could provide a special key combo to reset tech had no idea. So i got to try all the stuff i have for the last 3 weeks.

No they can't. Advanced tech support does not some kind of "special key combo" to reset anything.

Also, there is no way to force a software download. There is new software for the Hopper, but Dish has a reason for rolling it out as they do. When new software is rolled out, it's rolled out to certain groups of customers to see and gauge the number and type of calls Dish receives from those customers after the software upgrade. What can let the receiver receive the latest software (once Dish chooses to roll it out to that receiver) is to put the receiver and Joeys into "Standby" (all receivers off, no DVR timers recording anything). If it's time for that receiver to get the download, that will let it start to happen.

I see. Here's a diagram I made of a three-Hopper setup (I now have four.) Maybe it will help.

Tried a factory defaults? Tried a check switch? Tried a red button reboot? Tried a power cord reboot?


Most software DL issues during Hopper installation are on EA. It's due to Hopper being configured to pick up WA at the factory.

Next time it messes up :-

1. Red button reset
2. Press MENU on the front panel
3. Select Settings
4. Select Point Dish
5. Select Check Switch
6. Select Test
7. Make sure the satellite matrix is displaying the correct sats for your installation
8. Select Save
9. Press SYSTEM INFO on the front panel
10. Select Close

Should do it. If not, replace the Hopper and/or check lines/switches/nodes/dishes.

I just got on to make sure your diagram was the same as the one in my mind since I've never actually tried it. Do you actually have a DPP33 like the picture? I miss those...

Maybe this is a stupid suggestion, but have you tried swapping it with one of the working Hoppers to see if it works there? If so and it takes the download might be easier to move it to where you want it after it downloads.
 
So the new refurb junk in the trunk showed up today :) got to step #5 auth ... Froze and then click click click click reboot and bam.

Replacement #3 on the way lol. Grrrrrr
