Senior Discount?

I take advantage of them. Like I said, I ask if they have one, but am never upset when they do not have one. I just do not expect them. It's always a nice surprise when I get one, even at places I know has one.

Actually more to my point is that they did not know the different packages and what is offered. Since they are seniors they don't understand all the various packages, what is needed and not, etc... Of course... Dish is going to not tell them.
To be fair, Dish has been running a lot of commercials for Flex Pack since last fall.

If you can't afford the 250 pack, you can get the Welcome pack for 19.99. There is plenty to watch, but maybe not your favorite programs. Seniors and welfare people can cut costs, they just have to do without. I do.
Sonny's BarBQue gives a 25% discount to seniors, but they do not advertise it. Just ask for it.

If you subscribe to any of the premium channels they will give them to you for half price for six months. The will not discount HBO. Contact one of the DIRT team. They have been very helpful.
HBO is now free for six months. :)

I'm on the Welcome Pack and love it. But I didn't think it was still available. Do you have to go through "retention" to get it now?
You do have to call or chat, but any representative should be able to offer Welcome Pack, not just retention specialists.

That's all I feel HBO is worth. Any more than $10.00 and I would cancel it yesterday.

At age 62 the State of Washington gives a discount on the Ferries, and a very nice "Off-Season Senior Pass" at the State parks. If not an outright discount, I think the least Dish could do is give us seniors a free, premium, HD, 24/7 infomercial channel comprising of non-stop commercials for Stairmaster, scooters and walkers, walk-in-bathtubs, reverse mortgages, Colonial Penn Life Insurance, OTC prostate and testosterone enhancements, sleep aids, wrinkle and line removers, anti-snoring contraptions, Consumer Cellular and Jitterbug cellphones, arthritis and joint pain meds, miracle hair restoration products, digestive and vitamin supplements, etc. Uh, on second thought...

In Sonoma County, as a senior, I can ride the Sonoma County buses for free. It was that way last year and this year as well. I'm not gonna do that, but......

You can get all of that and more just by watching the commercials on the evening news.

Yes, but with an All-Senior, All-the-Time SuperInfoChannel I could get 60 minutes of this stuff an hour instead of the mere 25+ minutes/hour I get now. Just think of the benefits - no waiting!

Fun fact: I've recorded a lot of older TV shows from DVDs, and I was amazed how long they were versus the 30 or 60 minute time segment. For example:
Twilight Zone: 26min 50 sec (average)
Star Trek (original) 50 1/2 minutes (average)
Route 66: 51 1/2 minutes (average)
Miami Vice: 49 minutes (average)
M*A*S*H: 25min 35 sec (average)

Compare that to the amount of commercials in every 30 and 60 minute segment today! And that doesn't include all the creepy crawley things at the bottom of the screen, the animated logos, and other unwelcome pop-ups we have to endure now.

Disclaimer, I wasn't really serious about wanting more commercials reminding me how old I'm getting.
