Verizon Phone Records of all customers with Fed Government...opinion?

According to CBS Radio (and TV) this morning...
Not the actual "conversations" but rather the "who, (number) called whom, where, and when."

(insert twilight zone music here)....You're being followed.....and I don't mean on twitter...

It's not that we're all necessarily hiding anything, but does anyone find this a bit more than "creepy?"

In our area....the records will show allot of..."can you hear me now?" with no answer on the far end due to dropped calls!
Wouldn't it be nice if the effort was to improve service, rather than intelligence gathering?

Yeah don't think they should be allowed to do it without a warrant and must be something real serious like national security threat or a real serious crime. Will not go into this too much due to it really leads more into political type chat but either way government has gotten way to big.

It has been ruled (by the Supreme Court) that companies third party data is not your property and you do not need to be named in a warrant to get the records. This includes bank records, phone records, etc. If a customer service rep can access it, it is not protected information.
