Verizon's New Snooping Efforts Draw Fire

well unfortunately..they need to know where you are to make the cell phone network actually work..data collecting started waaay back with landlines..nobody can listen to actual phone calls but billing records are considered "public information" They know who you called and when you called and where you called from but not what you talked about. they also tracked your "calling habits" in order to optimize their network. The only new spin is that they have found a way to commercialize the data that they collect as part of normal operations.
