VIP 622 VS VIP 722 - Worth the upgrade?

But here we go:

Is the 722 worth the upgrade from the 622?

Besides more recording space any other noticable difference?

Also is it ( 722 ) as stable as the 622?

No, this will probably get moved to the Dish Network forum.

The two units are nearly identical. They run the same software and hardware is similar. I believe the 722 has a newer generatioon video processing chip. The 722 has a larger HD, which allows a couple of new features like on demand HD. The 722 (and later 622s) have a fix for the flaky HDMI port. Other than that they are the same.

You can get Dish Online HD "VOD" with the ViP722, but not with the ViP622. There may be other surprises in the future. But probably not.

For a $50-$100 difference, I'd go with the ViP722.
