Imagine if XStreamHD could do this...
ADVERTS 1
Hollywood Considering - Movie Theater Sidestep
This could be a great use for XStreamHD and would make LOTS of people want one.

Why would people want to shell out the $$$ for XStream HD when they could pay their cable co/satco $20-$30 for the movie?
XStreamHD is a horrible business model and DOA, IMO.

Proud Staff MemberBecause you only get the QUALITY for XStreamHD. Cable cant deliver 1080p with the full master audio in 7.1.
$30 for a movie that is still in theaters is CHEAP. I don't know if you have been to the movies in awhile, but when I bring my family of 4 to the movies it is over $75 for all of us.Scott

why pay 20 dollars for one movie when I can get unlimted 1080p BD's by mail for 20 bucks a month?

DTS MA and TRUEHD are great, don't get me wrong, but they aren't worth $25 more per movie. If I want to see a movie in the theater I go see it and pay extra if not I wait and watch at home (and likely enjoy it more).

I'd expect to be able to buy a BD in 7.1 for $20-$30. Granted, not as quickly.
I suspect XStream is too niche to make it.Reunite Pangaea!
