If you receive the NATIONAL feed of PBS via satellite you may have noticed that the primetime programs are now delayed by 24 hours. It is most likely some concession to the local PBS stations who want us to watch their stations. This is an insult to satellite subscribers by PBS and treats us like second class subscribers.

You can find more information about the satellite feed of PBS from http://www.pbs.org/insidepbs/dbs/ and they do have a link for e-mail satellite@pbs.org where you can complain about the new schedule. Tell them you want the programs on the same day that cable customers get them and we should not have wait 24 hours just because we choose to get their signal via satellite.

I have been complaining to PBS about the 24 hour delay of two of their Friday night business programs. It looks like they got a lot of complaints from satellite viewers and have decided to not delay them starting in June. Enclosed is the e-mail I got from PBS.

Thank you for your recent inquiry about the PBS national satellite service program schedule via DirecTV, Dish Network, or Primestar. Your feedback is very important to us.

I am very pleased to let you know that effective June 2, 2000, the timely programs WASHINGTON WEEK IN REVIEW and WALL $TREET WEEK WITH LOUIS RUKEYSER will return to Fridays at 8:00 PM and 8:30 PM Eastern Time, respectively. These programs will also be rebroadcast Saturdays at 11:00 PM and 11:30 PM Eastern Time, respectively. I hope that you are able to continue to enjoy these programs at a more convenient time.

If you have any additional questions or would like information on your local station that makes these PBS services possible, please let me know.
