Quit Calling me you bunch of idiots!

But what if someone ordered the pizza? :)

Then I take their credit card info. LOL. J/K. :-D

Normally works pretty good. Most of the time they hang up and never call again. I just signed up with VoicePulse who has the not in service tone for anonymous callers. It might eliminate my need to take orders. :)

they have the right to call you. you are not protected from the due not call list.

Nor are they protected from the DO not call list. Although I would keep an air horn next to the phone for next time they call. That might deter them, call it a hunch. :D

I think you are right when you asked to be taken off the list then they should stop calling you. However, it's threads like this that just crack me up because if you are home enough to be getting all these calls then really you need to be getting out. Personally people in this world let the little things bother them so much and make a big deal out of NOTHING.

I mean how hard is it just to hang up the phone? If you weren't home all the time you wouldn't be getting all the calls.

Just my opinion. You do what you think is best.!

In my experience, the majority of these calls come in around 7 pm or so. So he may very well be out all day, then he gets home and has to deal with telemarketing phone calls. It would irritate me as well.

I work from home - so going out when I am supposed to be working isn't really an option, i'm amazed at how much my complaining seems to anger the fan boys, I would have thought they they could have found another hobby or gone out of the house a little bit more rather than spend the time in these forums making excuses for Dish.

As I have said in the past - the complaining does not bother me even a little bit ... in fact i quite enjoy doing it ... I'm quite happy making a report to the FTC each and every time I get a call from them ... 30 seconds on my part may result in an extra $10k fine for Dish ...

I'm willing to do it as often as it takes to get something done ... and i'm happy to report that I have had a couple of offers of help via PM as a direct result from this thread from people who seem as though they have the authority to get something done. (Thanks to those people who offered to help - I really do appreciate you taking your time to help me get this fixed)

This means the thread was indeed worthwhile and if you complain consistently and persistently enough in the right places, you may well get results.

Had I "found another hobby", "gotten out of the house more", or "ignore it there is nothing you can do" my problem would not have gone away.

Hopefully this will be the last time I will need to post on this thread, and this will be the last time I will need to endure attacks from people who seem to be insisting that I am the one in the wrong here ... not Dish.

:)

Jokeworm - You have nothng to defend yourself about. Dish Network, or their agents, are clearly wrong on this issue, and have broken the law.

While this is certainly not a major crime, it is still annoying and, let me repeat, AGAINST THE LAW. And, since filing the complaint isn't really all that much trouble, there is certainly nothing wrong with doing it, each and every time those morons call. So, go ahead. Have fun.

And, to those who feel it necessary to whine and complain about his whining and complaining, you are just as bad as what you are complaining about. In fact, you are worse, as he has a legitimate legal and ethical complaint. You guys are just whiners.

Hope it works out for you jokeworm:up

So I was in the middle of switching VoIP providers when this thread started. My new provider has a much more extensive set of call filtering options. I was experimenting with the rules today and figured out I can forward certain numbers to a 'hunt group'. It is designed to allow you to forward important calls, but its also possible to forward telemarketers to other telemarketers. :)

I might have to experiment a little more. :-D

Yup - I used to forward all marketing calls from a company directly to the sales line of the same company ...

Unfortunately the VOIP provider I was using was very inconsistent so my better half insisted that I switch providers or face a life of constant nagging .... I switched providers ...

Wanted to report however that my issue appears to have been resolved thanks to the help of a kind soul who read about my plight ;)
