DISH DVR 922 RELEASE DATE????

From press release:
• Solo Mode by Default – The model ViP922 receiver is a single-TV solution, and therefore will remain in single user mode by default. The receiver will only go into Duo mode when remote viewing is in session. Once the remote viewing session has ended, the receiver will return to Solo mode. Please note that the MODE button on the front of the receiver will not be enabled and installation of the TV2 physical outputs of the receiver is not supported.

I am a bit confused by the Dual-Tuner/Single mode description.....

Can I still watch one show while recording another? (all on one TV in one room?)

You are right, sorry. I hadn't heard that until I read the press release. Anyhow, I guess I'll just wait longer until this bad boy can pipe a signal to my bedroom like my ol' trusty 622 (whose hdmi is out btw!)

Do you want it to display something different in the bedroom or just mirror what is on in the living room? If you don't want it to display something different then it will do what you want now (or when it is released).

It is offical now. It will be released April 7th. Looks like it retails for $649. $200 upgrade cost for new DHA customers, $600 for DHA TOO and FlexTV customers. For existing customers its anywhere from $200 to $400 to upgrade. It is releasing as a dual tuner for 1 TV.

All as expected. Any word on what defines the $200 vs. $400 price for "upgrade"? I'm an existing customer not under contract.

Would love to upgrade my 622 to a 922, at $200 I can probably justify, $400 less so.

CDH.

I want it display something different. It helps when my wife doesn't want to watch something I do want to watch. Shegoes to the bedroom and watches whatever.

I explained this earlier, but here we go one more time.

If your a good customer who pays their DISH bill on time then your cost will probably be $200.

If your someone whos account h as been shut off a few times for non payment, then chances are your price will be $400.

And thats about how it works. :)

According to what we've 'heard' from those who should know the Plan A,B and C calculations are based on that and also a few other factors, like how many times you call and bother them. :)

Basically right now Dish customers are rated as Plan A or Plan B. Pretty much everyone is considered a Plan B customer. Only a certain amount of customers are considered Plan A. Dish does not disclose how they determine that but it has a some to do with what Scott described. I wish there was just one set price, as it is difficult to explain this to customers.

I already have a sling box hooked up to my 722K. I know this question is more about personal choice but since I have sling hooked up to my 722, is there anything that I may be missing if I decide to stay pat with 722 hooked up to sling and my 612
