Just saw a similar thread on this and am very excited (as I don't have to listen to the kids whine about losing their recordings!). I can use an EHD (not enabled yet on my account) to copy the shows to and then hook it up to the Hopper and view them? Do I have to copy them to the Hopper or can I watch them from the EHD.

Thanks!

Mike

You can transfer them to the Hopper hard drive if you want or you can watch them off of the EHD. Either option works.

and, all you have to do is plug the EHD in to your 722 and it will format. There is no activation needed and the is no charge for it....

Cool, thanks! I feel like I'm having a "Duh!" moment because I knew about this feature, just never thought about it as an option for this!

Be cautious about copying the programs from the EHD to the Hopper. We ended up losing many of the programs that we copied to the Hopper including three episodes of "The Game of Thrones" which upset my wife a lot. You can watch them from the EHD just fine so that is what I would do. It was strange because all the programs were on the Hoppers DVR listing but many froze everything up with a blank screen once I tried to watch the program. Had to turn the Hopper off then back on to correct it plus there was no option to delete the bad program.

Thanks for the tip!

Yep, you can copy programs to the EHD from the 722 and use them on the Hopper. No need to "activate" the EHD, it's free, just buy a USB 2.0 EHD that is powered and plug it in.
