Just called. I asked about a Roku. The gave me a Roku, a one time $35 credit, $5 off a month for a year and Cinemax a year for a penny. Thanks Scott wouldn't have know about this if it wasn't for Satellite Guys!

chatted 7/2 told to call in

called 7/3 told roku would ship fedex 2 day (never received) ( I know there was a holiday)

called 7/9 referenced call on 7/3, could not find any record of the 7/3 call or a roku order on account, they placed another order, usps 3-5 days this time which is fine, told shipment would show on your accont in 24 hrs (never did) and discount never applied.

Called again 7/11 (today), discount now applied, but no roku order record, they can see chat record from 7/9.
transfered me around so many times during the 7/9 chat each one thought the other had put in the discount or order.

What gets me is not the wait or the delays its the dish-organization and dish-information. How can a company order products not keep a record, it reminds you of the old hooterville phone company from Green Acres. The entire sitcom run they tried to get the phone working.

Now I am waiting to come home one day and have 3 rokus show up all at once 6 weeks from now. The best of intentions witht the roku deal but terribly carried out like most things at dish. They need a new org chart at dish. Set up a team of 10-15 people depending on current demand, have them take all calls for roku and place the orders and keep records and send email notice. They have a dishwolrd iptv dept don't they? They already send out rokus for dishworld don't they? Retask that group. sheesh

I called on the 3rd and was told they would send me a Roku. Came home today and still nothing. So I called the loyalty number listed in this thread. The guy said he didn't show any documentation of me ever calling. He sent me to an account specialist. He said he would send out a Roku that I should receive in 7-10 days, he would credit my account $10 a month for the next 12 months, and also gave me Cinemax for the next 12 months for a penny.

I'm glad they screwed up the first time because I got a much better deal this time around. :)

If you do chats be sure to save the text or print it out. There have been a few mistakes causing people to have to chat or call in again. They are supposed to record the call ins but who knows for sure. That said the call in number and getting to loyalty dept is the best way to get the offers. If you haven't received the roku in 5 business days call back.

I waited 6 days so I called today. Dish said there was no record of the offer made to me. They offer the Roku again so the wait begins.

Hopefully it will work out for you this time, I have enjoyed the roku, don't use it all the time but I do enjoy it for the MLB subscription I have

Do we need a Roku forum here on Sat guys now that many of us have one. After getting the free one from Dish I may get a 2nd one for another hdtv.

I was thinking the same thing yesterday. I may get another one too. A forum would be great for users here to list good channels and where to find them.

Called last night and got $10 off a month for a year, one time $30 credit, and a free roku. After seeing recent posts I'm wondering if it will ship, should it show up in my account info online?

No Roku won't show up on account, forgot exactly why, when I wanted to follow up I had to call a CSR just to make sure it was sent

OK. No Roku box today, but at 7:15PM (EST), I received an email from Federal Express. It stated that my Roku was shipped overnight as of today and I will receive it tomorrow! Finally, some good news. Not surprisingly, Adrien from the Loyalty Dept, told me yesterday that it was coming UPS...
Ghpr13:)

We need a thread "Did you get a roku, but don't care about the amc/dish dispute" how many would fess up to it?

Very few, I would hope. But then again, there would be those who are proud to "stick it to the man (Charlie)".

1st: Bobby, Teehar, and TheChaz05; thank you for the kind words on the mistakenly, possibly, sent second Roku. I don't know if they were able to stop the shipment in time.

2nd: Looking around Satellite Guys, in one of the internet technology forums there was a thread about private Roku channels, not sold in Roku's channel store. Scott posted a link to a website. One of the programs streams multiple VOD content from channels around the world. However, it also streams live channels. For anyone who has an interest in CBC programming, it streams the Calgary affiliate. Two hour time difference for me, but I can actually see some Canadian shows that I enjoy and only get to see when I visit family in Ontario. But still won't watch Being Erica. That show makes me want to pull my hair out.
