Does anyone know a proper way for me to recype or dispose of my satellite dish? I dont want to just throw it in the garbage can. Thanks.

Our county landfill has a recycling area for metal. Residents may drop off recyclables free of charge.

In most cities it doesn't matter what items you place in what bins. Most take everything to a sorting plant now. Even your old dish in the garbage bin will probably be recycled anyway.

If you have a scrapyard near you, you can get some cash for the scrap metal.

We have several scrap yards in our area. While you can't make a fortune at it,it can more than pay for gas if you have several items.Really glad to see scrap yards pop up here,it has tremendously helped to clean up old junk piles.

Around here anything metal that's left out on trash night will be quickly scarfed up by "trash-pickers" who prowl the streets in beat up old trucks. Some people don't like that, but they do a service by taking stuff that the city won't. If they can make a couple of bucks by selling it for scrap good for them.

how about posting it on the freecycle list?

or have some fun and blow it up.... or shoot it up or wet the grass on a hill and ride down it using the dish as a sled if you are in West Virginia (nod to Buckwild!) ;)
