I know Dish is not a worry, not sure about Directv's policy. Theyd probably love to charge Rey $50 for not sending back in a remote LOL

I have scans of this crap somewhere but can't put my finger on it.
The instructions in the box say you can take it to the PO or Fedex and the label shows the Fedex number on it also.
But if you take it to the PO you don't get a receipt from them at all, or at least my local one didn't provide me one even after I asked.
And that PO tracking number was not trackable through Fedex in my case.
As to SmartPost, yeah it is the worst way to ship something you are worried about! After I dropped mine off at the PO and tracked it as far as I could, I emailed D* at told them I shipped it and it is in the hands of 'your selected shipper' and that I considered my part done and expected no further billing. I don't know if that makes a difference, but I wanted to be proactive just in case the damned stuff got 'lost' in their system. It has happened often enough for their to be threads now and then about that very thing happening with the big bill to go with!

My whole experience with Dish just seems so much better, I just set up with DiRT to upgrade one of my Hoppers with Hopper with sling, for no charge and a new 2 year commitment.
I plan to put my existing sling adapter on my other Hopper, so now I will have access to both of them as well as the added iPad functionality. DiRT rocks.

I just wanted to know if you've used the Dish Anywhere feature on a large TV and if you get 1080p quality video.
Two years ago I moved to Brasil and I've been using the Dish Anywhere app. I've been pretty disappointed with the quality to be honest. It gets choppy and the picture sometimes gets to the point where if I'm watching football, I can't even decipher the score of the game. My apartment has high quality internet, but I just found out that my parents house has a pretty horrible internet connection (I thought I had checked this before leaving). The good news is I believe their current 5 download/0.6 upload connection will be replaced by a 25 download/6 upload connection soon, which should fix any upload quality problems.
Slingbox offers 1080p quality video so I will buy that if necessary...but if Dish Anywhere can provide this, I'd love to save my money.

I have Cox with 15/2 internet at my house and it looks fine on my 60in dlp at the lake when I sling to my tablet and connect it via hdmi to the tv. I just have Windstream DSL 6M/750k at the lake. My dad does the same thing at the Condo in Vegas. He has Cox 15/2 here and Cox 25/5 in Vegas and slings via his tablet to a 50in LCD. Looks fine. I have know idea what the actual resolution is via Sling, its definitely not 1080p but it looks good.
Dishanywhere is just an Internet conduit. You'll need a Slingbox PRO for what you say you want...1080p.
Really not certain. I'm sure someone here will be able to tell you. The Pro seems to be the "do anything" model.

I agree with the OP, The dish anywhere app has greatly improved. Being a long time sling user, the app was initially terrible, frequently unable to connect, lot's of bugs, The interface has greatly improved as well.
So my next request to dish is to add/port the app to new devices. Roku and Chromcast would be my 1st recommendations, my son would say xbox. The net is they should move it to anywhere netflix/youtube is available. I think Dish will find increased marketshare of sling if ported to these devices.

Don't know if this is the correct thread or not (if there is a better place then please let me know) but is there a plan to have Dish Anywhere available on Roku?
My parents (if they can handle the tech then anyone can) are using their ROKU more and it would be nice to set them up with Hopper w Sling so they can stream to the Roku (or if they have to some other form of box).

i would be very interested in hearing any plans to add Roku. To answer question about parents, the only "device" I am aware of would be one of the Android based HDMI sticks available on sites like geek buying. No where near as intuitive as a Roku and I don't think the video quality is as good as the Roku, not sure if the issue is the device or lower resolution on dish anywhere app for android. but these devices keep getting better and cheaper. Other choices would be to connect Ipad (special cable) or android tablet (special cable) or laptop. I just connected my 2 year old motorola xoom and it looks pretty darn good, main drawback is have to go to tablet to control.
Any idea when we'll be able to watch stuff on our ehd (hopper with sling)? I used to be able to do this when i had my 722.
