I like the new set...but Fallon needs to dump the band and his side-kick.

IMO, the band is fine, but the sidekick, I have never liked ...

As Jimmy said, he's a friend from way back on SNL, so he's not going anywhere.

The roots are amazing. I actually saw them live with jimmy page and Robert plant in '96.

I believe that jimmy is the closest thing to Johnny that anyone could ask for. His talent is amazing.

I'm not quite so convinced. Although he's a versatile performer, his monologues are pale in comparison to Leno. Then again, Letterman and O'Brien aren't very good at stand-up schtick.

Fallon is..well, he's okay, but I'm having Leno withdrawals.

Have you seen some of the performances that he has done in the past? The stuff he has done with JT is amazing. Both of them are very talented. I am very much looking forward to the Friday night show with JT. I am also impressed with the level of respect that other performers have for jimmy. Will smith is another performer that I have a huge amount if respect for and it was obvious how much he likes jimmy in episode number 1.

Michelle Obama is actually funny in a way with JF.

Will Farrell as a Figure Skater haha. Think tonight's show has been the best one so far this week. Tomorrow Justin Timberlake should be something like SNL cameos :D

No doubt some of the stuff he does is very funny, and he is certainly a talented performer. But I love stand-up comedy and Leno packed a comedic wallop cleverly disguised as a monologue every night.

Haven't you guys been watching Fallen after Leno ?

I find Fallen to be Very talented, never liked JT, but when himm and Jimmy get together it's always a good show.

Wait till the shiny wears off ... ;)
The rest of the article and others in the publication explore that. Fallons ratings dropped from day 1 to day 2 as expected, but went up from day two to day three which was not expected. I want to see what the numbers were for last night. They should be released soon.

Granted I'm recording the show since I don't have the energy to stay up that late but Fallon has brought me back to watching the Tonight show after many years. I loved Carson and when Leno came in I liked him too, but ten years later I was tired of Leno. The show felt forced because there was no one else better to do it. I think they got it right now....

That's exactly how I felt, except it was Leno's second stint where I tired of him.

As expected, the visit by First Lady Michelle Obama gave The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon a bump, with the broadcast drawing a 5.3 household rating in the metered markets, up a tenth from Wednesday. In comparison, both Conan O’Brien and Jay Leno saw their ratings steadily decline every night during their first week starting/returning to The Tonight Show in 2009/2010. What’s more, Fallon’s ratings have been steady after the second-night drop from the 7.1 for the premiere: 5.3, 5.2, 5.3.

Jimmy Fallon’s Debut Delivers ‘Tonight Show’s Most Watched Week In 20 Years

For Jimmy Fallon’s first full week, The Tonight Showaveraged 8.490 million viewers, making it the franchise’s most-watched week in 20 years, since the week of the Cheers finale, May 17-21, 1993, 9.080 million. All five telecasts followed Olympics primetime coverage, with four of the five pushed to midnight.

The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon last night (Friday Night) drew a 6.1 household rating in the metered markets, up 15% from Thursday for a second consecutive night of ratings gains and the best number since Fallon’s Monday debut for an impressive string of first week nightly averages of 7.1, 5.3, 5.2, 5.3 and 6.1. What’s more, he accomplished the 15% night-to-night ratings increase while NBC’s primetime average fell 29% from Thursday.
