Now watch shows from your Hopper in almost any room in your house... or even outside around the campfire!

The new Wireless Joey comes with on 802.11ac access point and setup is easy. Plug it (the Access Point) in one of the two Ethernet ports on your Hopper wait a few minutes. Once the lights are all solid you can call and activate your Wireless Joey.

Bring your wireless Joey and hook it up to any TV, it supports HDMI for HD and Composite video for older SD TV's.

In just a couple of minutes you are watching TV.

You wouldn't even know that you are watching it wireless!

The wireless Joey is a little larger than the Wireless Access Point. but from looking at it, it appears this is due to the built in antennas and cooling system.

What makes the Wireless Joey unique is the Access Point creates its own private network and uses the new Wireless 802.11ac standard. Other wireless devices are using standard wireless G or N. The wireless AC works better then both offers more throughput and it won't cut out when your wife runs the microwave oven.

Scott,
The "cooling system" you referred to on the wireless Access Point...is that active cooling? A fan? if so, does it make any noise?

Do you know the maximum range for the wireless joey?
No I don't as each house is different. What may get me 300 feet may only get your 150 feet because of the way your house is built. I don't want to give distances that I am getting then have you get one and be mad at me that you are not getting the same distance. :D

But truthfully currently the only place I tried it was less then 30 feet away. I didn't have time to try seeing how far I could go.

My WAP is in my living room by my Hopper with Sling and the Wireless Joey is in my bedroom directly above the living room. I would say the distance is about 30 feet and my signal strength is about 63. I would like to see how it works out in my garage sometime which is more like 50 feet away and is not attached to the house.

Scott, what is the client switch on the back of the WAP for? Is it possible to connect a WAP to a joey via the ip port on the back of the joey like a HIC?

I had an UPG the other day cust had a h2k adding 1 WJ, I had done everything as I had on the install earlier that day and wasn't able to get the WAP to link. Cust had a direct IP connection from his router plugged into the top port. I had plugged the WAP into the bottom port it wouldn't link. I ended up swapping the ports and everything started working. Was it because the WAP needs to be plugged into the top port was it a fluke or was it because the internet was already connected to the top giving that port an "ip address" from the router.

What Internet mode was the system in, Ethernet or MoCA? I had similar problem till I switched to MoCA mode from Ethernet. My Wireless Joey would link to the WAP but it could not see other Hoppers in the DVR dropdown menu and the Whole-Home Displays Settings (Yellow - Blue - 4). My setup was following: all four Hoppers and original Joey were connected by Cat5 straight to my router, Internet mode was in Ethernet. All four Hoppers were plugged in the bottom port, WAP connected in top port on one of my Hoppers. I unplugged the Cat5 cable from three Hoppers and the original Joey and then changed my system Network to MoCA mode. The Wireless Joey then could see all Hoppers in the DVR drop down menu and the Wireless Joey could link to any Hopper in the Whole-Home Setup settings menu. It appears the Wireless Joey does not like Network setup in the Ethernet mode. If you want me to test the WAP plugged in the bottom port let me know. There might be an issue too with which port the WAP uses.

So I am probably doing this in all the wrong ways on here. If so, i am sorry. These damn threads are so confusing to me sometimes. Anyways, the whole point of my being here is to try to get help with my Dish Wireless Access Point. I can not get it to allow my two Joey's to connect to my internet. I have my hopper connected and watching Netflix on it but I cant get the 2 Joey's to connect to do the same. I ran into some financial issues, so my TV has been a cut I had to make temporarily. Everything was still working fine until I unplugged the WAP and the hopper when rearranging my living room. Now I cant get the Joey's to connect again. All 3 lights are lit up on the WAP but I am having no luck. Can someone please help me?

Are you saying your joeys can't connect to the hopper through the wap to watch tv at all, or they are already connected to the hopper and able to watch tv, but they aren't able to access the internet to watch Netflix?
