2015 Dish Price Increase

I remember one specific case with Time Warner - I had called and told them the rate was too high and I would switch to satellite unless they could help out. They cut the rate in half ! .
I used to do that all the time while I was with Comcast. I do it now with SiriusXM. My friend does it was Uverse.

I have only actively requested a credit with Dish when they dropped AMC. I do take advantage of credits/promos that pop up on MyDish when I attempt to drop programming.

Yes ,Dish is no longer the Hd leader either. They are way behind on Hd.Charter spectrum in my area blows Dishs number of hd channels away.

And dont forget Dish did the $5 increase the year before the "freeze", then $5 the year after the "freeze" whereas in previous years it was only $2 or $3 a year
Yes, I remember that . They front loaded a price hike one year and then pushed another at the end the next year, giving us the "price freeze" in the middle . Creative accounting 101 DISH style. But they still were able to hike the hell out of the receiver fees that year too. I still laugh when I think about $17.00 for a second 722k on your account. That is just plain ridiculous.

Me and my brother both have Directv and were seriously talking about dropping it in favor of streaming through Roku 3
I'm all for it but nobody here wants it gone, Wife don't use streaming devices as she thinks is complicated
I told her she can still watch her soap operas and primetime shows if she like, but just not ready to let go yet
Although we both pay and the people downstairs also, she doesn't look at it as too expensive
She sees it as not being able to easily watch all her favorite shows when she's stressed or just relax and turn on TV
and that's it, no fiddling around to search or anything
She's really hard headed but have to keep the wife happy, or I could just drop it and get a divorce :D jk.

Totally, 100% ..... AGREE! Now that is to me is a "because they can" extra fee.
2010. That was the year when I started using that very term: "because they can" charge it FEE.When they re classified all the additional receiver fees in to those new classes of receivers . We went from $5.00 for an sd receiver/$6.00 for an hd receiver to anywhere to $17.00 for the 722k. Simply ridiculous.

Let's change the tide a little. I'd like to see them go and do things a little differently, and increase their upsell value on referals to match DTV $10. I know folks love the ps4 idea, but money talks, and there are folks that don't care about the ps4(some of us are even in our 20's...gasp). Be a cool gift for my girlfriends kids when they move in, but not valuable to me at all, I'd love to take an additional $10 off for 10 months. That'd be cool. Only wishes though.
I'm in my mid 40's and I like my PS3 don't have a PS4, so it's not just young cats ;)

Soon to be 72 but I don't have any PlayStation.:)
That's terrible!! :)
I will admit that I don't do much with fast action games any more as my old hand/eye coordination just isn't up to snuff these days. But 'hidden object' games are engrossing and I can take my time.

I pay all my monthly bills with my Playstation card and have gotten 2 Playstations, two home theater amplifiers and a Sony Alpha camera with my Sony points in the last 5-6 years, triple points on my cell service and double on fast food plus several others.

Of course I pay the full amount off each month, so I don't incur any interest charges - credit card companies say that hate this but I keep getting new card offers.

Took out a card with 18 months no interest and charged a trip to Israel and Jordan on it, paid it off before charges began - free money.

Thinking about doing the same next year for a trip to the British Isles and France - a free 18 month loan.
