I don't see a play option in the guide for vod programs. I even looked to see what shows are vod and I go to the guide and see those episodes yet nothing tells me I can instantly watch it
What am I missing? Guide not updated perhaps? I am on 515

I FINALLY GOT S515 SOFTWARE!!!!
All my joeys and super joey work just fine and I love the green caption button -that I suggested. It works just the way I said it should: one button push on /off. I'm finally glad that the sub channel ota timers work again,even though the early /late feature still doesn't work. I still wish that DISH would enable the "add the ota station "option . It has been "coming soon" since 2012 and it is way overdue. All in all to me , it looks like a good software update.
Same here, agree 100%. Now if they fix the OTA mappings here in Vegas I'm all set to be able to record MyTV and Cozi again like I was before 506. So the issue is not completely fixed for me yet.
I was seriously contemplating dropping the H/SJ/J and using 1 VIP211k with EHD on welcome pack for one TV(till contract runs up) and signing up with Tivo with or without cable for the other TV's.

Nothing different on 122 either no play and iuf I hit select I get the usual options to record etc

I finally got S515 last night... the first software update since July.
One thing we've wanted for a long time is an easy way to turn captions on and off and we have it now! Just hit the green button. Thanks, Dish!
There are several other noticeable changes with this update. Will have to see how well I like them.

I'm still on 513.Did you guys that have 515 also have 512 and 514? Also why no 513? Was it considered bad luck?
S507,S508,S509,S510, S511, S513 were all betas that probably were never released, because the team discovered bugs before public release to us. Or they crapped so many HWS that they were pulled after the first release.
None of those were ever released publicly. They may have existed inside Dish or were tested by the private group of testers, but they can't talk about it or mention having it.
Ok well that answered part of the question...but what all is coming with this update?
So far I discovered that the ota sub channel timers work again for namebased recording. The early /late feature for ota channels still don't. There is the new added feature to binge watch as they call it. Meaning when one program ends and you have another one in your folders , it will bring that one up if you press the play button at the end of the first recording. Closed captions are now with a push on of the green button and push again off with the same button -like I suggested months ago. This is a nice improvement over the many button pushes it took before. Also in the guide there are play symbols if the show is also on demand. You push the play button and it brings up that option to watch it on demand. This is cool if you come on to the show in the guide and it is already in the middle of it and you want to watch from the start. You simply select the on demand version and Viola you are all set.

First off, the Joeys are slooooooooooooow since 515 hit. We have a HWS, Super Joey and two regular Joeys. The HWS and the Super are very fast, regular Joeys have been at a crawl since the update. Talking guide scrolling, apps.
The search bug where you move back to the letters to change the entry and the cursor automatically goes to 'P' and clears out the search text is back. They had fixed this last summer and now it is back again.
The rentals have been extremely wonky since the update - black screens, downloads that are 'expired' right away. Pulling the plug fixes them again, but should I really need to do this?
And the strangest of all - a random black dot in the middle of the screen on the very bottom on the HWS only - no, I'm not crazy. This was not there before the update - believe me, I would have noticed. A hard reset fixes. Only shows up once in a while - I've tried different HTML cables, ports, etc. Definitely coming from the HWS and new oddity. Not there for other HTML sources so not the TV. Defective box? Maybe, but I can tell you it worked flawlessly until this update.
I wouldn't even know where to go with this stuff. We know how scary CSRs can be.
I like the 'play' option from the guide BTW for On Demand. But wow, why do they have to break stuff when they give us something new?
