Whats your number one fta station?

It's hard to pick a specific channel but I have found that there are some interesting feeds on 99w C-band. Unlike some of the better known channels for which schedules are available, the feeds come, go, and occasionally change time, and you won't find them in any online schedule, but the benefit is that a lot of the available material is in HD, much of it 1080i and with true surround sound. These are the same programs that your local TV station runs during non-primetime and on weekends, or whenever they have time to fill, sometimes in greatly reduced quality. But until you have found a feed you like, you will never know it is there.

Those of you that have PVR's might find it interesting to pick one of these channels and record the first two minutes of ever half hour, 24/7 for a week (or at least Monday to Friday - I have found that these channels tend to either drop their signal entirely for part of the weekend or show "one-off" refeeds and other non-recurring programs). There are at least five such channels in HD (maybe nine, but for four of them I can't remember if they are on 99w or 97w), and at least four in SD. I will not mention them by name or frequency because this isn't the "What's up there" forum, and I don't want to see them go away, but the HD ones are actually my favorites, because I'm not real big on watching old shows in SD.

The really interesting exercise is when you have figured out what the schedule for one of those channels is, to get it into the grid on your frontend, so you can record a recurring program feed you like. :coco

Any sports keeps me happy same goes for news channels like NHK World, Ruter feeds and nice looking women prancing around on G-19, 97*w!:bow

Are those channels on G-19 or did you just list 3 different things? :) I just got excited for a minute that I could get NHK on G-19, and then realized it's not on that satellite. :(

That looks nifty, without steering too much off topic, what else can I catch with these?
I have a 29.5" (26.5" x 36") elliptical.
I haven't experimented with these myself yet (maybe this spring on a 90cm offset) so not sure what the results would be. I believe I saw a few threads of others who have done it. If you start a new thread with your dish size (and a picture if possible) along with the link to the lnb holder perhaps others who have done it will provide more info and what they think the results would be (hopefully good). :)

Turk look up my posts about multiple lnbs I didn't like those lnb holders were all right. I found better stuff at the hardware store.

Regardless of what he uses, I doubt he's going to get 2-degree spacing on a dish that small. I could only get down to 4 degrees on a 76cm dish if I didn't care if one of them wasn't aimed perfectly. 6 degrees was fine.

Thanks for derailing this thread. The OP posted what's your favotite FTA channel, not what he could get by linking to Ebay sale items.
My post in this thread was to try to help another member, which is what we are supposed to be here for! The help was appreciated too by the way.
Nice slap at me though. It wouldn't by chance have anything to do with my response to your insulting of a potential new member in this thread would it? http://www.satelliteguys.us/xen/threads/looking-forfta-hd-fta-box.348825/ Many others felt the same way.

rsmithwi If you don't like a forum where members help members than you don't have to be here. No one is holding a gun against your head. This is the second time in a week that you have tried to stir up something and bash other members. We are friendly folks, that love this hobby and love helping others learn about it, there are plenty of forums on the internet that cater to drama.
You have been warned.

Oh yeah, my favorite FTA channel is PBS Create in the PBS mux at 125º. Our local PBS station does not carry that channel and even though it's SD only (no big deal) it airs many good cooking and home improvement shows. It's really handy when the local's are in a pledge break and most regular programs are pre-empted.
There are some whiners here that complain it's not in HD, so what.
