Will the new year bring us the long sought after CSN Philly to Directv? I have been hoping for years and years and years. Despite winning FCC rulings, the channel is still not part of the lineup. I guess CSN can say they "offered" the channel, but there's no regulations/controls on the terms for carriage. They can just slap a high price on it, and Directv won't pay it... UGH!

Well, you pretty much got it ...
They don't want the channel on D*, thers not much they can do about it when they can charge any provider whatever they want.
I see no reason for D* to pay extraordinary charges when the others are paying much less.

UGH is right. If CSN Philly is that important to you, then you need cable or a slingbox at a friends/relative's house. I'm in South Jersey and put a slingbox in a relative's house for the occasions when I want to see something on it. As long as you have decent internet on both ends the picture quality is amazingly good.

Time Warner and Comcast have huge contracts for their channels. The Time Warner one is probably the biggest one for all providers, because of all of the channels they own.

Pac12 has been in negotiations for almost two years now. A lot of that depended on ATT buying DirecTV.

If they ever carried CSN Philly, then I think we'd all have an RSN fee shoved down our throats whether we liked it or not. They can keep it. We are one of the few markets without such a bogus fee. What's next, the breathing air fee?
