The main text is an apology by a former Team Kodi member but further down in the discussion there are indications that the entire Kodi project may be in serious trouble. In particular, the person who started the thread says this in a followup post:

Internally, it has gotten so toxic on Team Kodi that I would be surprised if the project lasts another year. Not without something changing. The abuse is to the point that it's not fun for anyone to work on things anymore, let alone attract new developers and team members.
For those of us that use Kodi and have wondered why things get broken and not fixed, and why certain developers in the Kodi forum sometimes come off as a bit of a jerk, this is a very enlightening thread.

I wouldn't code a single thing for Kodi, myself, other than for my own personal use, or help them with anything. Don't feel a bit sorry for them at all, if they're having trouble, actually, it would make me feel real good if they tanked.

When Boxee Box was developed, "they" showed their true colors and screwed pretty much everyone who'd worked on XBMC and it's their own damn fault if they're falling apart internally and having a hard time, they should've stuck with the original vision of XBMC rather than trying to capitalize on it.

Well I guess that it's never gonna happen Because if the team splits or if kodi stops serving the people then most probabaly the dvelopers will be he only one at loss. Because we always have alternative to kodi, which will then become the mainstream trend for streaming media
