NFL Play-Offs 2015-16

They should FIRE TOMLIN ...
Steelers have a good kicker but Tomlin won't let him kick it.
Has no emotion ... he's just a Well thats Ok type of guy unfortunately.

Always liked him till now.
See there, he let him kick it and he made it, add 6 points to the board and its a real close game ... Thanks Tomlin.:beaten:oldmad

I don't follow, why??
Denver offense played very sloppy. They've been playing poorly all year. If it were not for their defense, they could possibly be in the running for the number one draft pick overall. As one Denver Broncos' fan put it, they are possibly One of the worst number one seed teams ever. The only reason that the Patriots are not the number one seed because they had a horrible run of injuries affecting their play. The fact that the Broncos' receivers kept habitually dropping the ball was very upsetting. It's also sad watching Peyton Manning out there & knowing that he is the Broncos best shot at the Super Bowl. God, I could write a book.....

Not it shouldn't. The Super Bowl runs through Denver!

But the way the Broncos' offense keeps playing, it's no sure thing that they'll be the ones leaving Denver for the Super Bowl. If Denver SOMEHOW defeats the Patriots next week, then it is a sure thing that the NFC will win the Super Bowl. I'd rather see Cam Newton versus a healthy Tom Brady than Cam Newton versus 2015's version of Peyton Manning.

Cam Newton vs Carson Palmer: it's the first time Heisman trophy winning QBs have faced each other in NFL postseason history.

Better Manning than sitting at home which is where they would be with Osweller ... ;)

Then New England should have beaten Denver back in November, but they didn't so cue the tiny violin.
But can the Broncos repeat that performance next Sunday? The last time I was this unsure of the Broncos' chances in the playoffs, Tim Tebow was QB. If I recall, that playoff team also defeated the Steelers, & if I recall, the Patriots soundly defeated them the next week. Will history repeat itself?

Charley Casserly tweeted out today that after watching film of both this weekends games, Peyton Manning looked better to him than Tom Brady. What convinced him? Was it the pass that was so bad, Phil Simms thought it was tipped before he saw the replay? Or was it one of the many lawn darts that landed at the feet of his receivers? Hating Brady and/or the Patriots is one thing, but isn't one who's occupation is to evaluate and dissect game film supposed to have even the slightest bit of credibility?

So important to get that franchise QB early in the draft!! :)

The Final Four quarterbacks:
Carson Palmer- 1st overall pick, 1-2 in the postseason, 0 Super Bowl wins
Cam Newton- 1st overall pick, 2-2 in the postseason, 0 Super Bowl wins
Peyton Manning- 1st overall pick, 12-13 in the postseason, 1 Super Bowl win
Tom Brady- 199th overall pick, 22-8 in the postseason, 4 Super Bowl wins

And then theres the other way :
Ben Roethlisberger - 10th Overall pick, 11-6 in the postseason, 2 Super Bowl wins, 3 appearances.

Just because the ones in there at the moment haven't had much of a record, doesn't mean all high 1st round picks haven't done well.

Ely also was a high 1st round pick and has won the SB.
He has 2 SB wins in 2 starts.

Did you see anywhere in my post that I said, "all high 1st round picks haven't done well"? MY point is more about the guy that was bypassed by everybody (including his OWN team, BTW) and has become the most decorated postseason QB in NFL history. A guy that was a backup in COLLEGE and was 4th string in his rookie year. All the other guys that BOTH you and I have mentioned were quite frankly expected to challenge for championships.

Cam Newton has been a very pleasant surprise to me. I know that the Panthers, at the time, wished that it had been Andrew Luck coming out early as a junior, but Cam is just as good a pick, & he is ready to ascend to elite status if he can lead the Panthers to a Super Bowl victory.
