I am having issues getting my new hopper to go through the new setup process.

I ordered a new hopper off ebay from a good source. New in box in plastic wrap.

Also ordered a new solo node.

Connected to a 1000.4 eastern arc dish and lnb.
The Lnb is a new Dish network 172800 LNB. Decided I might as well replace it too.

So a simple single hopper setup, no joeys, new solo node, new lnb on a 1000.4 dish.

Here is what has and is currently happening.

- Started up hopper and got a configuration error
- Performed a check switch with alternate on and all 3 satellites (61.5, 72, 77) verifed on all 3 tuners
- Next step, download and install software.
- Now, all the hopper does is constantly boot and go through screen 833.

More specifically this is what it does
1. The hopper kangaroo screen comes up for maybe a minute
2. Hopper reboots
3. Check switch screen 833 comes up
4. It progresses through 1 of 1, then 4 of 4
5. It finishes and says some about updating tables
6. reboots
7. Back to step 1

I thought this may be normal so I left it on last night. Turned on the TV this morning and still in the same loop. Unplugged it and left it off.

Anyone have any advice to get out of this loop to get this recevier going?

Try switching the lead/output from the "new LNB".

Please send a Private Message with the Receiver Number and the Smart Card number. You can get this by pressing the System Info button on the front of the receiver. I can look that up to see if it is active.

Can send when I get home tonight

I currently have port one of the lnb going to port 1 of the solo node. 2 going to 2.

What are you suggesting I change? Thanks for your response.
Does it look like this.

Start all over and Perform Check switch with alternate OFF.
Alternate is for using a wing dish.
It will mess up your Check switch status if you have nothing actually connected using alternate.

OK. I will give that a try.

I failed to mention above, before I did the alternate check, it only detected mexican satellite (77 i think) and got a configuration error. Once I did the alternate, all 3 sats on all 3 tuners were working.

What is the best way to get to the menus while it is doing the check switch 833 screen. It goes into that immediately.

Thank you!

Stuck at work until 7pm eastern. Will be able to try all recommendations tonight. Thanks for the help.

That's not good.
Try it again with Alternate off.
If it's only seeing the 77, then put your old lnb back on and try it again.
It should look like this.
But also remember I have carbon UI so it may not look exactly like pictured, but still the same Idea.

Are you sure you don't have an alignment issue?

Shouldn't. But, maybe. Had a 922vip working before. All satellites worked, but I had lost one tuner.
Replaced the LNB. Still only tuner 1 working. Repeaked, still only one tuner working.
Figured it was either the 1 to 2 switch or the receiver itself.

Decided it was time to get a new receiver. The VIP922 software was so buggy.

On the hopper, had a screen similar to this and had all sats on all tuners. Then it performed a software upgrade. Been in the loop ever since.

Before I went to bed last night, I could not seem to find any button to get be out of the check switch 833 screen. Is there a button or combo you recommend?

This is a known issue with installers. When I installed my H3 I had the issue you are basically describing. I switched LNB output and...Bingo.
Give it a try...and let us know.

You mean the ports on the LNB? Currently using 1 and 2. Use 1 and 3, 2 and 3? Is that what you mean by different output?

You say the "new Hopper" I'm assuming you mean the H3 or Hopper 3? If so you do not use a node, you use a switch, different animal, and you use the new hybrid LNB. You're apparently eastern arc, I'm western but lets assume the issue is the same. With the H3 only one cabe is used to the switch, which feeds the Joeys. Google switch for Hopper 3. I think you need to research installation of H3, if that's what you're talking about
If you have a HWS disregard my postings...

It is not a Hopper 3. Just a nos hopper with sling.
