Since the last update(U313) I have this issue....When I hit the DVR button it shows all my recordings but it does not show my external DVR....if I unplug it and plug it back in and it does show it but the problem is when I turn the Hopper off and then on again it disappears again... Any clues...thanks

Dumb question but which button on the H3? Hold in the power button or hit the red reset? Thanks
I think you are exactly right. Hold or press, both should work. Not sure how long to hold so red will be quicker.
Not sure calling an EHD a DVR is exactly right.......
just sayin.I just reset it and switched usb ports and it worked.....What's the difference between the 2 usb ports...usb and usb 3.0? Thanks for all the help
Two of the usb ports are 2.0 one is marked 3.0, the 3.0 is faster data transfer if you got a 3.0 EHD....
That's a matter of opinion, but I seriously doubt you'll be able to tell the difference.

It's happening again.The last two mornings when I turned on my TV and hit the DVR button....the external EHD was missing and I had to unplug the EHD and plug it back in to make it work.Any suggestions? Thanks

If you got a power button on your EHD use it, I don't leave my EHD on I leave mine off until I need it. It also could be your EHD is starting to go bad, I tested mine I left it on and turned off the hopper3 when I turned it on my EHD was still on in DVR. What EHD do you have and how large?
Try unplugging both the receiver and the external hard drive and then plug both back in , in that order and it should see the ex. hard drive again. I had to do that very thing yesterday to get it to see my external hard drive. A power cord reboot usually clears out just about all issues with the receiver.
Before the update there was never a problem and I left it on all the time.I have a Seagate 500 GB...Thanks

I just did it and of course it works right now but the real test will be tomorrow when I turn it on..Thanks again everyone and if this doesn't work I will contact a Dirt member.
