Im thinking about buying a winegard travler dish for my rv.

Is there any plans for directv to stop using this dish and move to something different?

The slimline has been out now a while and i hate to spend 1500 on a dish only to last a year?

I believe the dish your t alking about, if it's the 1500 dollar one, gets the 99, 101 and 103.
These are the main Sats D* uses.
You should be good to go.

Now, will they eventually move the SD off the 101, probably somewhere down the line. Probably.
That said, they will still use the 101 at that time ....

Yes that is correct 1500 bucks. Its the travler with swm for my dvrs.

Good deal! Thanks for the info. I didnt wanna belly up 1500 to be gone in a few years.

Of course it all could change but ill go ahead and order it.

It's well worth it.
I'm a Dish subscriber at home.
At work and RV we use Directv H25s
I just take 2 from work since there is always 2 or 3 to spare during the summer months.

Sometimes I'll set up the Tailgater and use my Dish 211, but not very often.
As the signal is not what I expected sometimes.

And I love that the Dish sets itself up and points to the satellites all on its own.

This is the one I have now.

i just wasnt sure exactly how the mount finds the satellites. if its actually using something like an internal AIM meter or if its just got coordinates and says "ok adjust to these angles".

If these things were reasonably priced, I would have got one a long time ago.
$1500. is ridiculous
If they were like under $1000, say $899 or there abouts, it would be well worth it.

This one is better, because it does both Dish and Directv with just an LNB swap.
It's $2000

$1500 is well worth it if your traveling across country and you need to stop for the night.
About 15 minutes your watching TV in Walmart parking lot.

And when your done it folds itself up and your on your way.

Unless they weld/solder the lnb on, there is no reason why it could not be changed to a rev 3 or 5, or dswm or swm5 for that matter.
