I signed up with Sling TV a couple of days ago because of the Mars series starting Monday night. I logged in at 8:00Pm to watch what was on first. I think is was one of the Cosmo stories. Well, I guess a 100,000 or maybe a million others were also getting ready for the Mars show. All I got was a spinning circle going round and round and round. A flash of a picture and the round and round for 8 minutes. I went and checked other channels any they played without any problem. It IS NOT my internet connection. I have one of the best service providers in the country. So I just watched a recorded show without any problem until it got close to 9:00 Pm when Mars was going to run. Another 200,000 must have tried to connect because the recording started to go out and the circle again.
Well if this is the best that Sling TV can do, they are sure not going to get any of my money. Maybe some day they will get enough equipment to handle all their customers.

This is National Geographic, right? Check its VOD section on Sling TV & see if you can find the episode there. You can also see if they are repeating the broadcast of the episode you missed.

Hmm, I would have this exact problem with Sling in the past. I had hoped they had fixed the issue where demand makes certain parts of the service unwatchable, but perhaps that is still not the case.

Yes, it was natgeo. The Mars program was run again at midnight eastern and was watchable with some flashes, poor video now and then, and only one time freeze up and five second pause. I would guess "important" programs would go to VOD at a later time. My guess would be to not watch anything during prime time and hope it will be on in the daytime. Being retired I do have "all the time in the world" to watch stuff. Will consider giving them a try since you can cancel at anytime you want. I wish recording was as simple as we have with OTA and our FTA receivers.

Well then, there is always the "other guys." With Vue you can use their cloud DVR, plus have access to the NatGeo app by signing in with Vue credentials.
