In this screen grab from the Google Play store, it shows a pause and skip back button. Is that how the FireTV app works? I guess that's something. (I'm still holding off on "spending" my free trial opportunity until DirectTV Now is closer to something I'd use in the long term.)
Signed up for the 3 months with Apple TV. Don't have an apple but have wanted one for awhile so it's worth it to try out.
Only checked it out for about 5 minutes on my phone but the channel selection is killer. It's missing a couple locals but has everything else that most consider the most have channels I would guess. I switched to the fish network flex pack a few months ago and that is $35 as wel, but after DVr, HD fees and HBO now it's comes to about $78.
So far I love it, I wonder if this $35 go big promo with Apple TV is permanent, during the sign up it made it seem so.

Well:
- PQ looks good
- AQ is stereo like all other services
- Channel selection for price is good
- App is buggy, and navigation isnt so hot with remote
- VOD is just like Directv's normal version, where you pick a season and it only has part of the episodes in there, missing random ones (this sucks)
- The guide with favorites is a good idea, but it is buggy too, you can easily remove a favorite by accident. When you advance into the next block of hours on the guide, it does not always load up to show you what is coming on next.
- When you jump out to the home screen, and back into the app, it makes me wonder if the app stops streaming because it fires right back up
- Siri search is handy
Ran into several instances where I get a channel failure to load error. Have to jump around the guide and find one that will load and then go back. Cinemax is bad about this.
As far as pausing, you can see a white and blue line on the status bar, seems like it runs a buffer. Was good for about 2 mins of pause, but once it bottoms out and you hit play again, it jumps you forward. It would be good for a brief pause to hit the head, or grab a drink during a movie, nothing more.

Scott do you have any contacts that you could find out about vod? And plans to add more tv logins? This is the only deal breaker for me at this point

Lots of reports of audio sync issues and crashes on the FireTV app (especially on the Fire Stick) from Amazon customers. I'll definitely wait a while until they get things sorted out before doing a trial.

I've been seeing audio sync problems on a Fire TV box. Picked up the "free" ATV in store today but haven't hooked it up yet.
Have also noticed that 2.0 audio is the only audio available from what I've seen so far.
Having trouble signing in on two fire TVs. Can't get it to install on the third.
Finally got one signed in and it gives random error messages and will freeze up the app from time to time.
Gonna keep playing with it but I have to say, at both their launches, vue was far ahead of this.

Same here.
And I still can't get one to install.
One is installed and launches but gives that error randomly, one is installed and you can only launch it through the manage applications menu.
If you click the fire TV icon on the home screen it still shows the app installing.
All three the current gen fire TV boxes.

I agree. Scrolling thru that long mess that isn't in alphabetical order is not ideal, its one major complaint. Granted you can sort it down, but right now with the sports package going thru 20 Pac and FS channels is a tad annoying.
Mine wasnt a login error, it was like some failure to load error, and it happened too often.
