Full screen casting/mirroring is not the same as casting natively within the app. It requires your phone to push video & audio to the casting device. It KILLS your phone's battery, requires your phone's screen be on all the time and glitches much more frequently than native casting.

An app on the Fire TV would be awesome.

I am super excited for this! That one TV you don't use often enough to justify a whole Joey but that rare occasion you decide to work out it would be nice to watch my DVR items from the FireTV sticks I already have attached to every TV.

Will be nice. But if goes out and back on local LAN for those that have data limits will be a killer

I plan to go from 6 to 3 TV's with Hopper/Joey and put the rest on a Fire TV when this comes out. The rest don't get watched enough as it is and I have unlimited data anyway since I work at home and have a business line.

I haven't seen the question asked- will this app only work on one's home local LAN network or will it work outside the home as the current Dish Anywhere app on my laptop works?

My understanding is dish sling only works at one player at a time so that mite be an issue.

Probably won't. Our kids rarely watch dish. The stream almost everything they watch. It is really a backup so people can watch Dish if they want on any tv.
