Considering 2 vehicles for when I go with Vue. Roku and Amazon Fire TV. Have been researching both but would like actual user input and opinions on both from fellow forum members.

I think the general consensus is the FireTV is much better if PS Vue is your primary use, unless they've finally brought the Roku app up to snuff. I just received a great offer from Roku for $30 off their Premiere line, so I'm curious myself whether the Roku app is still a work in progress.

Having used Vue with both, there is no doubt that the Fire TV is a better device for the service.

Either Box is fast and fluid with it (with second gen obviously faster), and the latest gen stick is comparable with the first gen Box. The first gen stick was pretty slow with it at launch, I do not know if they made it better since I replaced them with the 4k box.

I've been researching this for the last week also. Consensus is to go with the Fire Tv BOX for PsVue for the best experience. NOT the Firestick!

I read quite a few posts where people tried multiple devices, and most said the Roku is workable if you don't want to spend the $90 for a Fire Tv, but very barebones (no guide function)

My experience is that on the Roku, it is clunky, effective, but clunky and bare bones. Not quite VOD on the Dish 722k, but nothing special.

On the PS3, the guide is more interactive, but it is a bit lagging and non-intuitive. Hard enough to learn something new and trying to do it while it lags.

Haven't used the Fire.

I highly recommend the Box as well, but if that isnt an option, the newest Stick is very usable. The first was not, and I think that is where most of the negatives against using it came from.

Thanks guys. My initial thought from what I have seen on line is that the Fire TV box is far better than any Roku. Just wanted to see if my feeling would be confirmed from a source that I think I can trust more than testimonies from possible compensated ones. As an aside, I have purchased and am waiting to receive an inexpensive Roku Express from Ebay. Thought it might be wise to take this route for a trial before paying the higher price for the Fire TV box. And can still use the Roku with the lesser used tv in the living room.
