Future of Diginets?

Only bbc is..there are many many commercial broadcasters that show uncut movies in the UK..With a multitude of ads
Europe is a big place -- much larger than the islands of the UK.

I looked at the program schedule for London and didn't see much in the way of theatrical releases. They had Hellboy II playing back-to-back and another movie from 2001 playing during what we would call Prime Time tonight. Hellboy II is a two hour movie and it was showing in a two hour slot so either a lot of the movie was missing or there weren't a multitude of ads. The channel was ITV2.

ITV2 is a commercial channel loaded with ads..time schedules are not as easy to follow over there..its not a strict hour/half hour schedule

Nonetheless, unless they're using some serious time compression, it was a two hour movie in a two hour slot. If it was "loaded with ads", they would have had to severely time compress and edit the movie for the time allowed. I assume that "loaded" means at least 30% commercials.

Alternatively, if they used the entire four hours to play a two hour movie, I'm not sure how anyone could sit through it.

Other than that, I didn't see much in the way of theatrical releases so I'm suspicious that your claims aren't particularly accurate. Much of the freeview programming that isn't BBC appears to be MTV class at best.

Is there a future for subchannels? What do you think the future of diginets will be in 5/10 years? How do you think they will adapt? Will there be a reduction in number? Will they acquire more current programming/ original programming as they cant really keep showing reruns forever can they? Will they change much?

This post being from 2017, move ahead 2 years and things are changing. Several diginets have started to stream, so if you do not have a certain one in your market, you still may be able to get it. STIRR (Sinclair) just started their free streaming pack with TBD, Comet, Charge!, Stadium, and others. Comet has been around streaming for some time now. Biz Net now streams, Re'vn, the shopping channels, many rel. channels. So we are on the way. A new way for viewers to watch their favorite network without OTA.

Also look at Pluto TV and Xumo TV, both of which offer free, live, multichannel packages like STIRR does. Pluto was recently bought by Viacom and they will keep the free offering but plan to add paid options as well.

This is how streaming services should be, free if theres commercials, and uncensored. The guide is nice and wish it will go "a little more to the right, I'll pay you for it what the f...."

Free is cool and uncensored is cool but the combination in the context of having to find advertisers can be particularly difficult. Those who feel it is their place to decide what everyone else watches get the job done by threatening boycotts of advertisers making the combination difficult to assemble.

I see there is a subchannel called Ebru TV that operates in some parts of the country. All it shows is repeats of shows like This is Wonderland, Hustle and Doctor Who endlessey. The same few shows. It's website/Facebook has not updated in 2 years. How is this still going or what is it?

Pretty sure Ebru has been out of business for quite some time. If not out of business, it's been off the air in the US for a while. As far as I know, it has no affiliates in the US.

That's an option that I can do. As long as I don't have to pay for it that's a good thing. I hope that when they add paid options that I don't have to pay for what already that I watch.
