"Real Time with Bill Maher" is another one with data issues. I notice they have been giving the episodes a generic description of the program itself, not the specific episode, as well as incorrect air dates. End result is that the H3 is recording every single re-airing of each episode. There were six copies of last weeks episode recorded.

I noticed something, if I goto guide and choose Record Series and I then edit the timer, it no longer has the option where you select how to record like New only, New and Reruns, etc? Did they change this and does it default to New and Reruns? I usually check my timers once a week on sunday night when looking at DVR and then the scheduled recordings and this is the first time for the next 9 days it is recording everything without a white line through the programming which means it's skipped and then I have to select record this on each one.

Looking at the bottom of the thread, no one from DIRT has read this thread. If you want to talk to one of them on the subject, you'll probably have to shoot one a PM.
DWS44,
This goes to my point they(DISH) are not listening to their customers like there current ad campaign states. Here a major issue concerning a major component (the DVR) that is not working correctly and they are not taking the time to see what is going on. This forum is a great tool for them to monitor the health of the system. To get ahead of the power curve to keep problems small and quickly fix them. Where are they? They are not there unless you scream at them. I am sorry but that it BS. I get alert on my phone with any updates to this forum, why can't they?
Sorry for the Rant but to me customer service is a big deal to me and I don't see very much coming from Dish lately for the price I am paying for their service.

I'm losing timers too with a lot of shows including The Expanse. However, it only happens if I have a conflict and the DVR sets to record the next airing, What happens is the next recording is automatically setup in advance, but when midnight occurs, they are deleted. The issue does not occur when the next airing is the same day. For example, if the show first airs at 9PM but has a conflict and the next airing is 1AM, the timer is set but as soon as midnight hits, its deleted. If, however, the shows next airing is 11PM, it will record the 11PM airing without issue.. This problem is not new. Its been going on since the new UI.

I can't get the 11th Hour with Brian Williams to record reliably on Msnbc. I have to go into each day and hit restore to get it to record . I have deleted and recreated this timer, changed this timer to daily, new only , new and reruns, Mon -Friday, and it will not reliably stay working.

Count me in as having more issues than just a few. Ever since the new guide was "updated" it seems like my new timers will just not stay. They show up in the timer list, but do not show up in the guide. And do not record. Is Dish even working on this issue?

Another was Powerless, kept recording an entirely different show on a different channel. Not much of a loss really. Also skipped all of Making History.

I believe I am speaking for the great number of subscribers who have been patiently waiting for the timer/recording debacle to be fixed. I could not recommend signing up for Dish to anyone while the system is in its current unreliable state.

Add my name to the petition to fix this problem NOW!!

The Voice timer stopped firing for me (several other timers as well). I deleted the old timer and used the search function to recreate it, when to my surprise The Voice didn't show as available to record, but down in the "you might also like" section, was another The Voice. I had to select that one to create a new timer.

I have been ignoring this thread since I haven't noticed any problems on my H3 concerning missed recordings. Then two nights ago I noticed that Deadliest Catch was a new episode and it was not scheduled to record. I deleted the timer and recreated it and then saw it was scheduled. Then I started looking around for others timers that were not working. I noticed Nature and Bering Sea Gold also was not scheduled. How many others were skipped that I didn't notice? I have U347. I noticed that this is a very old thread and so the problem has been around for a long time. C'mon Dish! Get this fixed now. This is very frustrating.

Note, the new timer will probably only work once and the original timer will probably work again so don't delete them. That's how it was on mine.

Just checked and great it didn't record expanse for me either. Now i have to watch with ads on the app

The OP's initial post is almost identical to my issues I'm having on with my HwS. BUT in Expanse and Magicians not recording, I went to SyFy VOD, been doing a lot of VOD lately, and although VOD is totally screwed up on many levels, those two episodes were there and WOW! what a difference in Picture Quality. Things are gorgeous on my new 4K and back on my DLP. The Commercials and Programming were identical unlike off the dish where I am seeing Programming flat and dark and commercials bright and clear. Or if tuned to make programming good the commercials are blinding. Another form of program volume increasing/decreasing. Not only audio.

AND right when the programs getting cut off thing was getting fixed, it's back and not the "Ending Early" problem. The program is actually not recorded. The other, a program is there and needs to be restarted and FF to where you were to finish.
