First time using this service, is their anyway to turn off the dreaded "Are you still listening?" pop up which seems to come after 5hrs and wakes me up cause it stops the music? Very annoying unlike Spotify or TuneIn which keep going until you turn them off. This could be a deal breaker for me. Appreciate your insight.

I don't think so. I have the Sirius XM app installed on three of my Windows 10 computers and it behaves the same way as the Android app. Never timed it, but 5 hours seems about right, the WIN10 app wants user interaction to keep listening.

That certainly is a possibility. I remember prior to the merger, I found some Sirius channels streaming on Shoutcast. Winamp was, still is, and always will be my favorite media player so I used the pirated restreams instead of Sirius' own player. They eventually went away.

its to keep places like barber shops and restaurants from using it as 24/7 background music. those places need commercial accounts.

It doesn't seem to time out with Alexa though I don't think I was too much more than five hours, maybe six on Sunday using it.

After reading all the horror stories about Sirius customer service (or lack thereof) I've decided to go with Slacker Plus instead. I enjoy Sirius, enjoy Spotify but Slacker+ is just $4/month with no commercials.

I'm guessing the time out has more to do with the company having to pay royalty fees for music not being listened to. Pandora's apps do the same thing. App times out, asks you to press a button to continue. If no one is there to press the button the music stops and fees stop too.
