2017-18 NCAA Football Thread

Lol, I saw that ooc schedule too. We've got some cupcakes too, everyone does, but that's pretty bad.

Edit:. Looking, Florida State aside ours isn't any better. Lol.

Two of our home games this year are terrible, oh well. One problem with big neutral site games, you lose that opportunity for a home game with a good team. September is going to be rough for the wife and I, 3 FSU home games and a trip to Mexico. I opted out of my 4 Atlanta tickets, the seats were terrible, and I can just watch with the Bammer wife on the new 75" at home. I wasn't aware but certain seats in these openers are first choice for the NFL fans owning the seats, so it cuts down on premium seating. Lot of the $10k+ per year donors for FSU got seats I would normally get at a lesser bowl game, etc... LOL.

It's a typo for WVU, danged dyslexia ;)
Oh, don't get me wrong, they'd go up, but just not much, as beating those 4 schools is something anyone should be able to do.
Anyone familiar with the SEC would know. I could have gone with Aubarn, but I like using Cow Tech as we have some engineers at work that went there. :D

WVU looks to be pretty good this year - they are 20th in the polls after all so a ranked team either way to take down is nice.
Really though - VT's schedule is perfect - Clemson at home with the prob biggest threat being Miami and being away if they can go down there and take care of business I don't see any losses. I'd love to see a undefeated VT vs an undefeated FSU in the ACC Title game which would likely decide who goes to the playoff! :D

Looks like I have my Doak season nailed down, and rooms booked.

9/8 weekend, group of 4 guys for the annual bobo opener. We just partaaaay and work on liver break-in
9/15 wife and a friend for Miami
9/22 not sure who is going with me for Nc St
10/21 Louisville
11/4 Syracuse
11/11 Going to go back to Tally for game watching parties they do in the stadium on the monster screen (at Clemson)

Sounds like fun...I'm going to be pulling for FSU till the ACC Title game ;)
I would really like to see FSU vs VT both undefeated in that game to decide who goes to the playoff...wouldn't that be a great game with two top 5 defenses in the country going at it?

AP Polls are out - surprised nobody said anything.
I'm content with most of it although I think FSU should have been #2 but no matter..they will be #1 in a few weeks.
Oklahoma will jump to around #3-4 soon too after it beats Ohio state.
I feel the media is hyping USC up too much Stanford looks much better.
Michigan was a surprise at how high they were..should have been top 10.
Georgia is highly over rated this year as is South Florida and Tenn.
I'm content with VT at 21 they gotta earn it and the rest - good start against #22 Wva to get their name out of the mix early.

Your entitled to your opinion of course, but I don't know where your coming up with your evaluations ...

You feel USC is all hype and Stanford is much better than them .... based on what, you haven't seen either of the teams.

You said Michigan was a surprise at how high they were and you said they should have been top 10 ?
They came in at #11 I believe, are they too high or too low ?

Don't worry Jimbo, after WV wins at Fedex Field, and VPI loses a few more after that, he'll disappear mid-season, and it'll be another 9 months before he starts dissing Ohio State again. Rinse, Lather, Repeat.

Lol what? I was here thru each game win or lose last year.. even the crazy Tenn game in Bristol.
I find that comment concerning.

I haven't even gotten to cutting on GT yet.. I think they will do pretty good this year but I'm hoping for Revenge in Atlanta for sure.

I'm doing the same thing everyone else is picking games and evaluating teams based on stats, players, games FPI etc etc...
Michigan is #11 - I feel they should be a top10 team...not sure what is wrong with that statement?

USC is getting hyped bad like they did a few years ago.

Nah, this year he sticks it out and realizes we are all just having fun. ;)

I feel great about the predictions though. It means most of the teams picked to lose here will likely win. :D

Your quote :
Michigan was a surprise at how high they were..should have been top 10.

The first part of that quote made me think you thought they were too high, then after you said they should have been top 10 ....

I would have thought you would say you were surprised with how LOW they were picked and should be top 10.

No big deal, I understand what you meant now.

We had a good year last year, which means we'll probably suck this year, especially with a new quarterback. Rinse, Lather, Repeat. :D
