Gotham

I've just caught up on season 3, plus the first episode of season 4. I loved "evil" Lee. It'll be interesting....and awkward, when they introduce Falcone's daughter. Also, I guess people don't die on this show.

Gotham will have one more season 5. Season 5 will be it’s last due to the low ratings according to Fox . I’m not sure why it has poor ratings because it’s been a great series . Maybe another network or Netflix will pick it up .

Competition, plus subject matter that scews it to an older audience.

Plus the ratings threshold to keep a show on Fox are much higher than on CW (Gotham's ratings are about twice the superhero shows on CW). Not to mention it's expensive show due to production costs.

And since Fox doesn't produce it (it's done by Warner Bros), the threshold is lower than if it was a Fox produced show, as they won't get the income from syndication that more seasons would bring.

Warner Bros. could always move it to CW, like they did when CBS got rid of Supergirl.

The article I read stated the intent was for Bruce to become Batman in the final season. This is supposed to be the end of the story so I doubt the show will be shopped around.

He seems a bit young to don the cape and cowl just yet. But I guess decling ratings call for desperate measures.

But the cape and cowl has to start somewhere. We've had hints already. If Gotham is supposed to be the story of they beginning of Batman we might be there in another dozen episodes.

With a 24 episode final season, plenty of time to get all the characters into their positions for Batman.

Personally though, for a prequel like this, 5 years is a good mark. They don't have to stretch it out the way Smallville was done. I quit watching that one about halfway through because it kept going nowhere.

I agree with that. I just the actor is a bit young to be convincing as Batman at this point. But that is my opinion only.
