4K Events Discussion Thread

Based on the two MLB games this week added to the schedule, is it safe to assume that Dish will be copying the 4K schedule of DirecTV?

NBA

10/31 – Oklahoma vs Milwaukee, 8:00pm ET

College Football
10/14 – Baylor vs Oklahoma, 3:00 p.m. ET
10/21 – Teams TBD, 3:30pm ET
10/28 – Teams TBD, 3:00pm ET

English Premier League Soccer
10/14 – Liverpool vs Manchester United, 7:30am ET
10/22 – Tottenham vs Liverpool, 11:00 am ET
10/28 – Manchester United vs Tottenham, 7:30 am ET

Considering that Dish did not have the EPL Liverpool vs Manchester United match on the 14th, I'm not so sure. We should know soon though.... ;)

I think anything produced by Fox Sports is probably a fair assumption but anything else isn't.

Not sure that except for a few angles that it looks that much better than regular HD.

But the TV is reporting it as 3840x2160 / 60p.
looks pretty good scott i was watching it for a while as you might notice during the commercials on FS1 the picture goes to a still shot of the ballpark.otherwise look good.

why does Dish/FS1 not put other events on 540 like Champions League soccer, these are broadcasted in 4K in the UK.
Probably because there isn’t a contract for it yet. So far all we have is college football and a couple of baseball games. Give it some time...

After the two ALCS games were broadcast I'd hoped that the World Series might also be in 4K. Even though the HD feed didn't look bad tonight I need to justify spending too much on a set.

Hey, I spent $5,000 on my first HD set in 1998. There might have been 2 programs that looped at the time. :)
