If you have something you want to play in VR and there is a decent deal on a bundle go for it. As someone who has already invested in VR I would love to see more games like Fallout add in the support. My only problem with Fallout 4 VR is that they made it a separate $60 purchase on Steam even though I already own the game and season pass. Same for Doom and Skyrim. If your PSVR bundle includes those that won't be an issue for you.

I'm not trying to turn you off VR because when it is done well it truly is an amazing experience. Just have a realistic expectation of what is available before you invest in it. Also, buy Superhot VR. It is easily the best VR game I have played.

Works great. I was actually impressed with it for some titles.

The oldest boy and I have been having a blast with Skyrim VR the past weekend. Resident Evil VII was a great title as well, and the boy replays it from time to time.

Farpoint and Arizona Sunshine were short games, but the use of the AIM controller was spotless. If Fallout 4 VR ever comes to the PSVR, I hope they implement the AIM controller.

Not really. For movement rotation (ie, right stick rotation of the camera), I highly recommend keeping the setting to "staggered" as opposed to smooth (default was the staggered one), as smooth tends to mess with me. But with it not in smooth I don't have a problem, and you can adjust the rotation angle if needed.

I found the same thing to be the case with Farpoint and Arizona Sunshine, I don't remember Resident Evil having a smooth option.

I have only experienced motion sickness in 2 VR games. Both of these were fine for the most part but if I tried to play them for more than 45 minutes to an hour they would start to bother me.

The first game was ADR1FT. This is a game where you explore a damaged space station. It is one of the coolest VR experiences I have played because the views in space are amazing. You spend the entire game in a space suit with thrusters in zero gravity. After floating around for a while and coming up to walls at high speeds and then suddenly stopping when I hit them I start to get a little queasy. There is just a disconnect between your physical body sitting mostly still in a chair but your entire field of view tricking your eyes/brain into thinking you are moving.

EVE Valkarie is a similar situation. This is a multiplayer game where you are in a spaceship cockpit. It's a team deathmatch style game where everyone is in their own ship. It's a very cool experience and it gives off some serious X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter vibes but after a while doing the sharp turns and loops that make sense during a dog fight starts to get to me. It's the same phenomenon as I mentioned in the other game. My eyes and brain get tricked into thinking I'm upside down or on my side but my physical body is sitting upright in a desk chair.
 
Just saw that Sony has the PSVR headset itself on sale for $199.

Add Skyrim and a camera, and your looking at around $300. They do have a bundle with all that, and 2 move controllers, for $350. But for Skyrim, I'd use the dualshock 4, I looked at the instructions for using the move controllers, and decided to stick with the dualshock.
 
Amazon has PS4 VR bundles on sale. The Skyrim bundle is $350 and the Grand Turismo bundle is $299. Seems to make most sense to buy the $299 bundle and the Skyrim game separate. Basically get two games for like $10 more.

Never mind. I see the Grand Turismo bundle doesn’t have the motion controllers.
 
I already have a PS4 camera and Move controllers (which I understand aren't required for most games), so I'm tempted by the $200 pricing for just the headset. One of my biggest concerns is continued software support for PS VR. I've already been burned by Move for PS3 and PS Vita, and $200 is a big investment for me for a novelty item. Does anyone get a sense of the prognosis (the real prognosis beyond Sony's empty promises). Are these price drops really a fire sale or the normal reductions we see in new tech life cycles?

Everything I just researched led me to believe this is going to be invested in. It's just the first stage but I'm hoping all the devices will work together for a long time. I just purchased the Skyrim bundle yesterday for $350 and signed up for the Amazon Visa card which gave me another $70 off so it was a sweet deal. The only upgrade I can see that I may need to do in the next year or two is buy the PS4 Pro.

Dell has the Skyrim bundle for $334.

Nice.

Let me know your impressions of it. Me and the oldest boy have been competing for playing time in playing Skyrim on the VR. So far both of us love it . The immersion and scale of the world is wonderful. Large beast feel large.

He tried using the Move controllers, but quickly went back to using the dualshock controller.

Should be here this afternoon so I can hook it up and play tonight. I'm excited. I've never played Skyrim before so I hope that helps with the whole experience for me. I think I'll start with the move controllers and go from there.

It was the first time my boy played it as well, as he was much younger when I first got Skyrim back on the PS3. He loved the feeling of it as well, and still has no idea of the scale the world has to offer.
 
I didn't realize that the Gran Turismo PSVR bundle was including older versions of equipment. Just read the reviews and lots of complaints. It seems the Skyrim bundle has the updated equipment. Makes me very happy I bought mine last week while still on sale.

Didn't know that. Hadn't paid attention to which equipment either bundle has.

I wish they had made the new PSVR processor box compatible with the older helmet via an adapter, but since I don't have an HDR TV it really doesn't matter. Plus I prefer the headphone adapter location on the older headset.

btw, if you have PS Plus, don't forget to grab the PSVR game that they're offering. Currently it's Until Dawn: Rush of Blood. Plus they have some freebies as well, my kids love the Playroom VR. Plus they have both Demo discs available for download so you can try all kinds of games out.
