Hi again. This time I have one of two H10 receivers that do not retain the program guide for the off air TV channels. This last time I went a week before I get "Regular Schedule". I sometimes am able to just push the reset button and it will show the programs. Then, other times, I must do an antenna setup or longitude and latitude reset and zip codes or even a "reset everything". Somewhere along the line I'll get the guide to work but it can take hours or days. My question is: Could bad capacitors cause a misstep in the circuitry that governs the guide? I've replaced capacitors in a monitor before and it fixed a no picture problem so why couldn't I fix this issue by doing the same? All I have the H10 receiver for is the program guide and it is really helpful.

Thanks for any advice,

Johnnybeach

I ran a System Test and the Tuner is OK but the LNB Output failed.

I'm thinking the processor in the old dinosaur is not big enough to handle all that is going on in these current units.
This unit is at least 2-3 generations old.

Probably right and I'll wait until there are other adverse symptoms before I work on the capacitors. Meanwhile, I have done a default reset which got the program guide back but it took a long time. I noticed that the primary local and secondary local zip codes were missing before I did the reset. Sometimes the fix is as simple as pushing the reset button but when that doesn't work then I have to go deeper into the setup processes.

Thanks,
