This device would be of no help to you in terms of working with your security cameras.

I was certain of that, but I'm going to own one of them for tuning dishes. It's a very impressive meter and makes it simple to locate and tune a satellite. Hobbyist and professionals alike would benefit from having one. Takes the guesswork out of locating a satellite. Well worth the money.

I got one today and oh my god what a meter!

Even though I had (and still have a Applied Instruments Turbo S2 meter) whenever I went to really work on my dish, besides having the meter I would also dig out a TV monitor (normally a 32 inch screen) a satellite receiver a satellite receiver and all kinds of wiring to hook it all together, not to mention run wires to power it all.

Now I can do all of that, with one tiny little meter... love the arm band!

Used mine to play with my KU dish and what fun! The learning of it was fast and easy, and as I am using it I am finding out more! The USALS is working fine with my KU motor.

I can't wait until its nice outside so I can go work on my C band dish, I have a feeling with this meter it will help me aim it a lot better than I ever have before.

About the only thing I haven't found is how to turn it off. (and for that matter how to turn it on when it is off... besides turn the battery switch from off to on.)

This thing is the Swiss army knife of Satellite Meters. And I haven't even used half the features of it yet!

Glad you like it! You're not alone, I find that I am not using the AI Turbo S2 anymore. Nice to have motor control, SDT and a real-time spectrum display in one package.

You found the On/Off switch. That's it! :)

In some cases, items do "come down"...I can, howver, assure any FTA person or satellite service individual that this box is worth it!'s asking price in case anyone doubts. (and I don't think many will.)

As a radio station owner I had to re-align a commercial dish during our zero degree weather...and this thing ID'd the satellite easily...saved me taking a TV, Receiver, and my Jeep to the middle of a yard and running the Jeep for the inverter, separately tuning an FTA box, and hoping it worked...OR...running to the engineering /transmitter room and using 2-way radio for our needs. What a pleasant way it was to align a "pro" dish....and I'm going to REALLY enjoy it on my dish farm. Most of my dish usage are fixed dishes feeding an 8-way switch, so this will mean I can peak them with ease! In any case, once the pennies are saved, you'll be glad to have one....and I hope you do get one! You won't regret it!

This looks like a meter that I have dreamed of for a while and for the right price. I been wanting something to do the over the air, spectrum and tv on the meter and it has it all. I just wish it would broadcast over the air and do VHF as well. Wonder how well this would do for current Dish Network dishes in use.

I hope the weather is good enough this weekend to let me go outside and play a bit. We will start on my KU dish, seems slightly out of alignment, as I can't get anything past 105, and I use to go all the way over to 125 fine. :)

Had the chance to "go out" today and work on my dishes with the same model meter! Didn't take long to find out how much easier it is to skew the LNBs on the ku dishes, and to tune-up the signal. Like Scott said somewhere earlier, the armstrap holding the meter is great...in it's case it didn't mind a few raindrops, and I was outside with it "on" for about an hour with plenty of battery remaining. (no motors to drive, by the way.) Changed out my diseqc switch, an 8-place so the system has a fresh one, and swapped the microHD for the Amiko Mini. So far, so good! Next purchase: the Titanium motor drive which I think will give me the missing "oomph" which sometimes keeps the Birdview from moving when you first ask it to go....and the system should be in good shape! Trying to decide what other (ku) sats to aim at now. Have a fixed 103 Birdview, Fixed 103ku, Motorized BV, Fixed 125 ku, Fixed 97ku, one current spare Ku, and a larger spare ku for the Spring, then one more Birdview perf to install and one up by the house to wire-in on separate system.

Don't know if E-scapes is still available FTA, but the Amiko could never pull that one out for some reason....and it was an enjoyable channel.
Scott I hope you get your playtime and weather....

Spring....you're far away... But at least the break let me play!
