BOSCH

Thought the first episode was meh.... I really enjoyed the 2nd season, hope the third improves. And wish they didn't mashup so many books.

I watched the entire season 3, it was great. Better, overall, IMO, than the two previous seasons...

Finally finished after some traveling. You are spot on! The best of the three by a long shot. Much more character intertwining this time. A GREAT detective series, right up there with The Wire and True Detective (first season).

Now that I've read the first 9 Bosch books I want to go back and rewatch the first three seasons of the TV show to see if my opinion is different.

Good to hear, but I have largely hated the first two seasons. WHY take great books and mash them up in ways that make no sense. I'm fine with making the storyline more modern, and him younger than he is int he present, but it is hard to take such great books and mangle them so much.

Maybe when I'm bored I'll give season 3 a chance.

I read them all in order a year ago, that was so much fun. Alas, I don't think it improves the tv show.

You need separate the two and enjoy each individually. You think Walking Dead comic readers hate the TV show? No. I've never read the Bosch books. I DO enjoy the show.

Bosch seasons take multiple stories and mash them up for no good reason, and it does not improve the story line. And separating the character from the 20 novels he has been in is not an easy thing to do. And he simply did NOT have to do it the way he did, and could have created a show that was far better and satisfied his millions of core fans.

But it is what it is.

So far, typically solid and polished. Apparently there is a "game changer" about mid-way through. I hope none of the principals gets killed off...but one probably will.

Enjoyed Season 6, better than 5. One last season left. Will miss it. Everyone will tell about it absolutely loves it.
I saw your post and thought I'd try it just to watch something and it's pretty interesting. I guess I have a lot of seasons to catch up since I only got thru 3 episodes in season 1.:)
