Nascar 2018

Take the 'racing' out of caution pitstops.
If for no other reason than safety.

Typical caution pitstop...
Race to not break speed limit.
Pit crew racing to service cars
with minimal pitcrew.

Let the race be decided by the drivers racing the cars,
Not the lug wrench guy.

Get back to caution pitstops being safe and complete.

I haven't watch very many laps of the three races this year, just been so busy. But has stage racing really had an impact on Follow the Leader? Blaney dominated Daytona in terms of number of laps lead, Harvick killed it in Vegas.

The Stage cautions should not count toward the lap count.

Stage racing isn't really racing, it's just a phoney gimmick. It's the equivalent of stopping the Kentucky Derby at each qtr pole and declaring a "stage" winner. The guy crossing the finish line first is the only winner, everybody else lost.

Finally get back to the chance for a true early start Sunday afternoon race that might be finished before dinner time and it gets snowed out. :(

I feel for the fans at the track, though. I lived through the Bristol Snow weekend 10 years ago:

Do you remember? The Bristol 'Snow-Bowl Derby' | Official Site Of NASCAR

I still remember walking up the big hill to the track before the start of the Xfinity race that day when it was snowing so hard we almost couldn't see the track in front of us. One of those memories I wouldn't trade for anything, but wouldn't want to do again. :D

Thank God... Another "24 Hours of Bristol" is in the books.

Sunburnt & 82* on Saturday, Soaked on Sunday, Frostbite today. Never thought I'd watch a race while being sleeted on. :confused:o_O

...and after all that, the :censored 18 wins.

Anyways...off the thaw out.

Bayne is a great guy and all, and as a long time Wood Bros fan, I really had to hold back a tear or two on the final lap of the 2011 Daytona 500 but I think the jury is in and he is just not competitive at this level. I know he has some serious health problems and has stayed pretty positive and I give him a lot of credit and wish him the best, but I think his Cup days are numbered. To make a change this drastic still relatively early into the season doesn't bode well for his future. His strong Faith will get him through all of this but I just don't think he has the talent to be a contender week in and week out.

Sitting here watching Talladega qualifying. God, I hate the "crab" cars they use on these plate tracks. They look absolutely ridiculous going down the straightaways with the bodies mounted skewed as much as they are.

Rumors are out this morning that Matt Kenseth is coming back...Going home to Roush to split time with Bayne in the 6 apparently.
So is Matt coming back to run races, or is he just back to run a few ?
It sounded like on the Pre race show that he's gonna race a few ....

If thats the case, I don't see the big deal as him being BACK ... lots of people jump in a car and run a few races.
If hes back for good, thats another story ...
