Yes. For real!
I'll come to your defense... These guys are picking on you without checking it out. As received from dish with the aspect ratio set to normal the picture is tall and thin. Stretching it out makes the picture look normal. You do loose a touch of sharpness but the aspect is correct. BTW, normally I do not stretch a 4/3 picture... yuk.

Near as I can tell,
MeTv's feed is zoomed halfway between 4:3 and hd.
Then dish squeezed that down to 4:3 making everything slightly skinny.
Dish Stretch makes the same picture aspect as ota metv feed,

I couldn't check it out as I'm not getting the channel.

Ah, so that answers the question whether MeTV is doing the zooming/stretching/cropping, or my local affiliate.

Now I don't care if I get this channel from Dish, as it's the same (or worse) butchered, distorted feed that I get OTA.

The only reason I can think of for MeTV to do this is to pander to the idiots who must have complained that the channel doesn't fit their screen.

Asked Antenna TV on Facebook about coming to Dish. They responded:
“It’s something we’re ultimately working toward, but I don’t have any guesses as to when it may happen. There’s a different set of rights for national coverage as opposed to local coverage, which is how we’re set up on local OTA stations across the county.”

And that's why I recently dropped the Flex Pack and added the U-verse pack!

I compared Me-TV which I receive as a sub channel 04-02 with the Dish Me-TV on channel 247. After I stretched the channel 247 they both had the same aspect view. The OTA Me-TV broadcast is delayed by several seconds.

The picture quality of the Dish Me-TV channel 247 is slightly better than the OTA channel 04-02. For a SD channel the picture is pretty good.

How sad that the subchannels are not in the lower packs as they are available in some markets OTA. I know it is possible for us to get Me TV OTA, but I have to adjust the inside antenna frequently to do so. I guess we would need a "better" indoor antenna or maybe an outside one or one of those older attic ones. Oh, well...I suppose; channel package placements do not always make sense on Dish. I do not think we have a local getTV (channel 373) affiliate; we watched it when it was in free preview over the holiday.
