Did a scan about a week ago and found about a dozen radio channels listed. A few had audio and were religious programming. One other channel had a female announcer with a recorded loop of audio tones at 1000 Hz and audio sweeps, seems she was touting some kind of satellite audio service.

See attached, all channels are on the same TP. Very low % quality, wondering if it could be 89W or perhaps 93W? All four of the ABC Live channels come in fine though. "FSIE" is one of the religious b'casters with audio. Nothing on Satbeams or Lyngsat for these radio channels. Might be something new.

I'll be darned....the OP is right. It's on transponder 10K....nice catch!. I put the 1.2meter dish on it and had to manually scan that transponder and I scanned them in. Pretty low quality even on the 1.2 meter dish. It's the NPR satellite services hub. Looks like a test mux with low symbol rate. They used to be [or still are] on 99 west on C-band.

Space Segment
NPR Satellite Services offers full-time or occasional use, partial transponder space segment from a prime orbital location of 99 degrees west longitude. Our transmission footprint covers all 50 states, and much of the Caribbean and Mexico. Through the combination of a favorable look angle and C-band service, we can provide reliable service to the most challenging geographical locations—even in inclement weather. Additionally, our transmissions can be non-preemptible and protected by our multi-tiered approach to system backup, if you elect that level of service.

No Fake News intended here, it's what I am seeing :). Am using an X2 Premium Mini, a 39" WSI Dish, Sadoun H-H motor and Chapparal LNB. If I have time will turn dish a bit either way to see if signal increases or decreases. Let me listen to that YL announcer and see if she gives any hints as to what satellite this is. Stay tuned.... and thanks for the comments guys.

Thanks Arion for bailing me out. Listen to the female announcer with the audio tests, interesting. Reminds me of the test transmissions by the American Telephone and Telegraph Co. that used to be on shortwave AM in the '60's.

Just discovered these feeds tonight. Been hunting around to see what they were. They also have low signal quality and some dropouts on my 90cm dish. Wonder why the signal quality is so low?

Because they aren't meant for the hobbyist with small dishes. They are meant for radio stations to distribute PBS programming and they have big dishes to compensate for the lower signal strength. For those stations the link budget is more than adequate to cover any potential drop outs. For most of us everything has to be exactly right or they'll come and go unless we have a big dish dialed in for KU.

PBS? Or are they NPR

spongella which receiver were you using that displayed this information on screen? I have been looking for something like this; specifically, a receiver that will display the modulation parameters (DVB-S, DVB-S2 etc) and HD flavor.

Have had these in scans for a while, but unable to get get the audio to play properly. Sounds like munchkins.

I have it on my 1 meter with 62% quality on my geosat 1200...had to manual enter freq and all

Sent from my SM-N910P using the SatelliteGuys app!

I receive similar results on my 90cm GeoSat Pro dish conneted to the Amiko HD.265

I was listening to the classical feed last night. Every so often there is a drop-out where the signal appears to disappear completely for a brief second, then it comes back.
