The YouTube TV Thread

Apparently everyone is getting a free week added to their service to make up for the outage during the World Cup this week. In almost two years as a sub, I don't recall PS Vue ever doing anything like that. This just appeared in my Gmail inbox under the Social tab:

Hi there,

We're really sorry for the recent YouTube TV outage during the FIFA World Cup Semifinal. We love our TV as much as you do, and our goal is to make sure that you can access your favorite TV - whenever and however you want.

Any recordings of the full game or anything else you were recording should now be available uninterrupted in the Library tab. If you are still experiencing issues, please let us know via email, phone, live chat, or @TeamYouTubeon Twitter.

To help make this right, we’d like to give you a week of free service. You’ll receive another email soon confirming your account has been credited.

Thanks for sticking with us.

Sincerely,
The YouTube TV team

Yes I too got the same email.

Multiple people in the YTTV Facebook group are now reporting being offered a full month refund upon contacting YouTube directly about the outage, even after this email about the free week had gone out.

I did another trial.
I’m seeing a lot more 60fps on Roku. My LG app I’m not seeing any though.

YouTube TV has apparently lifted restrictions to accessing DVR recordings on Fox, FX, FXX, Nat Geo, and Nat Geo Wild. I actually didn't mind the forced VOD on FX shows, as it was only one commercial per break and I'd almost rather sit through a 15-30 second commercial break than pick up my remote to fastforward and find the point that the program restarts...but I guess I'll still have that option.

In other news, the Sinclair/Tribune merger is officially dead, so hopefully that means I'll get my local Fox affiliate back any day now, just in time for the NFL season.

Noticed today when I am in On Demand and highlight a series,it also shows the links in Youtube when there are videos about the stars of the series that I have highlighted.
And when I'm in the regular YouTube app, my recommendations include videos related to TV shows I have been watching in YouTube TV. Funny how that works. ;)

I finally got my local Fox and CW. SWEET!!!

I was thinking the other day that it would be nice if YTTV would add maybe Hallmark Channel because my wife likes that channel,so after doublechecking all the other internet tv providers and still coming back to the fact that I made the right choices for my program packages I did a search and found that I could subscribe to the Hallmark Movies Now app separately for $60. a year which seemed expensive until I read there are no commercials.

I looked at it for my wife too, and it only offered older stuff, nothing current. I haven't heard of any changes since I checked it out.

I thought this post in the Facebook YTTV group this morning was worth sharing here. Amazing indeed.

I woke up this morning and my internet is not up to speed. Check the down map and Florida frontier is having some issue. I can't get Philo, I can't get Hulu, it won't let me in Amazon....but guess what is working? Yep, YTTV.... no buffering on whatever slow speed I have right now. I can't even do a speed test it's so slow. They might have just won the streaming app contest. At least for me. It's been between them and Hulu live up until now. Sorry for such a long post, I was just pretty amazed by this. –Verna B.

You can add USA Network and Bravo to the growing list of 60fps.
SyFy and Smithsonian also 60fps.
