Channel numbers are too small, but other than that, its ok.
What, no LINE down the middle of the guide so you know what time it is ? Sheeeesh, what were they thinking ?
Just goes to show us that many guides coming out these days from the carriers look mostly the same as what we have.

I should have had a sarcastic emoji after the blue line comment .... as i hate it ... its better now that they toned down the Brightness but still annoying.

Anyone like Spectrum's new guide? They just have the logo and number plus 2 1/2 hours. What if DTV did something like this?

That appears to be a stock photo.

I swapped by old 6 tuner TWC DVR for the Worldbox 2.0 last week.

Here are some pictures I took of the new Spectrum Guide. Sorry for the glare/washout on the right side of the screen in most of the pictures, the sun was poking through the window and I can't close the blinds due to the window AC.

spectrum(charter) new guide is here! very happy!

Ah yes some revisions in EarDemon's guide vs the stock photo. Numbers are made bigger, logos smaller. A 6th row in the guide as opposed to 5.

The channel numbers don't have to be huge if you have readable logos. Who cares in the example if FX is ch 506. If you see the FX logo its FX. Numbers are just a shortcut, but you can just bring the guide up and scroll through. Numbers are starting to become irrelevant, especially in systems heavily pushing on demand.

That charter spectrum has a lot of blue. It would be nice if they had a few color schemes to choose from.

I think I like the DirecTV guide better. More contrast, easier to read. Now if they'd just do something with that blue line.

Interesting comments about the Spectrum guide. Yes, I much prefer the DirecTV guide. I understand why people with large screen TVs would like to see more lines but unless DirecTV introduces multiple guide designs it's not going to happen. One poster said the lines and font look huge on his 88in TV. We don't all have 88in TVs!!
I hate logos and will be glad if they are gone permanently from the guide. If they are shown for channels I rarely watch, they don't add anything, since I probably would not recognize them.. If they are in my frequently watched channels, I don't need them. The local channels brand themselves by channel number anyway, I never say I will be watching ABC just Channel 8. All the logos do is clutter up the guide.
I was sure I would hate the blue line. having used it for several weeks, I must say I like it. My family likes it too. At a glance you can see where you are in the program, an whether it is scheduled to run past the half hour. The actual time display is pretty useless, you have to make an effort to look at it, it's too small and you have to know when the program is going to end.

I like not having to scroll through channels and using the number to go straight to the channel.

Very good point, how do you go directly to a channel with the Logos only set up ?
Say I want to go directly from Fox for 1 game thats on to ESPN for another ?
I can't do that without a guide.

when I got home this evening I found my 54-700 was auto upgraded to 1104 at 814am this morning. is this the new national release replacing 1088?

No ... some of us have 110B already ...
No telling if 1104 is truly a NR or not, it seems the rules have changed and the way they distribute the software these days are much different.

A quick look at the redh page, 1104 is currently on all the H/HR44 and 54's now.

It might be the new NR, let's see what is showing on redh tomorrow during the day.

Pretty sure it's the latest nr. It's listed on redh.com as the latest.

I think it's unlikely. Most regular DirecTV customers don't have TVs that large and I don't think DirecTV wants to handle multiple formats. Many (most) of the UIs from other suppliers are six or at max seven rows.

The zoomed in guide is terrible and the blue line is worse. How about fixing the existing problems instead of making up problems that really aren't problems? Like pixelation, sound stutter, sound and picture drop out, recording the same program on several unintended channels. Oh well, I guess that blue line is important.

there is no zoo

There is no zoomed in guide. It has six lines the same as the old one.
The blue line is not worse. It's a very useful addition to the guide,
I also think the guide is fine the way it is.
I don't have any sound and picture dropout or sound stutter. I have very occasional pixelation, always on the same channels.
