For a couple of months now, every couple of hours my sound starts stuttering. If I hit pause it goes back to normal. If I rewind then play it back the stuttering does not repeat. This happens during live broadcast and on recorded material and on all channels. All wires and connections are tight. I am direct wired to the TV with my HS17 and 4K Mini.

I occasionally get audio and video stuttering with both my HR24 and HR44.

Since this stuttering problem continues I called and spoke to a tech rep. She insisted that the problem was with the hard drive in the HS17. She scheduled a tech to come out and replace the old HS17. The tech did replace it but said that the c61k was the most likely problem and that he actually tries to talk new install customers out of the c61k becausebit has many bugs and has bern aamajor problem since its inception. He was correct. The new HS17 did nothing to fix the stuttering problem.

DirecTV has had this issue for a long time across the Genie platforms, particularly on the 4K equipment. It is a known issue and is not resolved. Since you found hitting the skip back did not repeat the issue, and cleared up the audio, I am confident your HS17 and hard drive are fine.

I've just accepted that when it happens (I've only had it on live TV), just hit the skip back button.

Pretty sad that this was an issue when I left almost two years ago and is still an issue today.

i been having audio/video issues on Cartoon Network/Adult Swim east HD on 296, HLN HD on 204 and Pop TV HD 273 when it first HD a while back. the issues are the sounds sounds like it skipping and the video looks jitterly. anyone else having this type of issues on their Genies, my Genie is HR54 and my Genie minis are C51.

Have you tried using the back key? It works for me although it's not a proper fix.
