So the big day with Apple is expected to be September 12, with preorders on the 14th?

Things seem to be firming up. I need to get my battery replaced before then. Those stores will be mobbed.

Don. Did you get into the Apple/Stanford heart study?
I got in about 4 months ago and my Watch has sent close to 900 reports to the study. If you are alerted by them that you may have Afib, you will be offered to do a FaceTime appointment with a Dr. from the study and the Dr will give you the option to wear a monitor so they can monitor on a regular basis.

No. I had atrial flutter developed suddenly about 15 months ago but went in for surgery and that ended it. Things have been perfect every since. My ICD/pacemaker is like having an EKG 24/7. When I go in for my quarterly checkup they download the data for the past months. The new ICD I had put in in June now has a connection to Medtronic and uploads the EKG and other data every night. If there is a problem Medtronic notifies my Doctor and he gets in touch with me.

Currently the device allows me to exercise to about 130 BBM max. If I try to exercise harder I begin to black out due to lack of oxygen. The pacemaker doesn't allow the heart to pump faster.

This disqualifies me from participating anyway:
Has never been diagnosed with atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, and is currently not taking any anticoagulant medication

This just breaking news- Apple Watch and Airpods are being exempt from the latest list of tariffs on China imports. Earlier in the summer the iphone X and 2018 models were also exempted. However, Home pods, Airport, Time capsule are on the hit list and other connected devices are still on the list. Other brands of fitness trackers are also exempt such as Fitbit product

Found out that my dad has pre ordered me a Space Grey Apple Watch 4 (GPS) since he didn't get me anything for my birthday.

I have to go with him to the Apple Store on Friday to pick it up. :)

I guess I will give my Series 2 watch to my 15 year old as he has a series 0 and it can't do the new Walkie Talkie Feature.

SO, long story short, my son comes home from college for Fall Break and has his ?Watch Series 3 Nike Edition that we bought him for his birthday. He forgot to bring his charger so he takes off the watch and puts it on his nightstand. Later on after returning to school he says, "Oh, yeah, I left my ?Watch in my room." Since he was flying out to Albuquerque for his cousin's wedding we figure we can pack one last little item, and remind him, "don't forget your watch charger" (which he did, of course!)

Well, I try it on as we're leaving and press the crown. Two seconds later I see the current time (in red) and a red lightning bolt, which I take it to mean that the ?Watch is running on fumes. Now, this is like three weeks after he forgot the watch, so I expect it to be totally spent and unresponsive, but it still could light some OLED pixels to show the time, like one of the original red LED watches from the 1970s. In other words, it still functions as a timepiece.

Anyway, I wore it on the flight to ABQ and out to dinner the next night. I found that the 42mm size was about right, not as big as I thought it was going to be, so my thinking of getting a 40 mm ?Watch Series 4 after the EPP discount kicks in seems sound.

Got the stainless steel 44mm and this is my first ever watch and I freaking love it! It’s a great tool to keep me healthy. At times I don’t even use my phone, I get all the notifications on my watch and I quickly scroll through them.

The voice call quality is solid as well.

Oh, save your eyes, and go for the 44. It is a great experience, and not that big. :) Pretty impressive that it lasted that long. I love the AW4. Best one yet.

So yesterday I was at the pharmacy and I saw this guy with his new iphone XS Max strapped to his wrist. I had to ask. He wasn't ready for the Apple watch just yet but wanted the idea of having an Apple wrist watch he had one of those exercise arm bands runners use and strapped it to his left wrist. Funniest thing I've ever seen done with an iphone.

Is it safe to assume that he had not skipped any meals? I'm trying to envision how Apple's biggest phone could fit on someone's wrist and not look comical.

I’ve had several smart watches, never used them much other than as watches.

But. Wal Mart is running some in store clearance on the series three now for $199. So I picked one up. I’d never pay full price for these but I’m gonna try it out and see if it’s that much better than android wear.

It’s not the lte model, but I don’t need that. For the price I’ll either be satisfied enough to keep it as a watch, pleasantly surprised, or can sell it for more than I paid.
