Three times this morning my picture froze then a massage came on a blue screen saying "DirecTV Connecting. This process took 2 or 3 seconds and all was well. My HS17/c61k set up has all tight connections including at the dish. The c61k was replaced several weeks ago. This has happened see eral times lately and cold rebooting everything has not helped. I am direct connected to the TV.

If you can record the show you’re watching, then if you get a drop go back and see if the recording had a drop? If no then the dish to HS17 is probably good and the issue is the coax to the C61K or the C61K itself.
I just got off the 1 hour phone conversation with tech services. They are sending another rep out this Sunday. I think the problem must be somewhere in the wiring since all connections are tight. Here is the scenario. Watching recording of PTI on ESPN. Picture freezes and 4 seconds later I get the message that DirecTV I'd connecting. 2 seconds later the show comes back on and I cannot use the Previous channel button (for what that's worth). When I go back and start PTI from the beginning the freeze frame is not there. The freeze/reconnect scenario also happens when watching live TV.
The tech just left. The signal went away while he was watching the TV. It did it 6 times between 6 and 6:30. He replaced the c61k and so far so good.
I see this error occasionally during very bad weather. If you see these error messages frequently it is not likely something you can fix. You may need to have DirecTV come out and change the position or placement of your satellite.
