First I thought the killer shadow could be someone from another dimension (guess I've watched too much sci-fi)

But now I will settle for a more mundane option, like the shadow is some MIB... perhaps?

Don't think they've thrown out clues to point to a typical abduction, but.... who knows, guess in this case anything's possible.

Question remains who or what destroyed the plane?

The government destroyed the plane to keep others from figuring it out.

What did you guys think of episode 3?

I wonder if they are always going to follow the same formula for a script -- strange voice or message, figure out what it means, then do whatever needs to be done.

Kinda wish they would have more variety. Must admit I'm starting to lose interest, but I'll still watch at least a few more.

I havent seen this weeks episode, but I am leaning to the shadow being some "otherwordly" being, likely involved with the plane disappearing to begin with, and involved in it blowing up.

I dont think it was the government at this point, as we already have a sci fi aspect with some hearing voices and such, so I think (right now at least) they may take a more supernatural/otherworldly approach to some of this.

Good points

After the genetic marker business I'm leaning toward aliens. God wouldn't need suspended animation. Or maybe it's Homeland Security putting all their spy devices to work for good.

Guess the investigators haven't thought of hypnotic regression as a good idea.

Like they believed the passengers, saying that for them there was no time gap nor missing time.

I've read that in an cases where they suspect alien abduction or alien foul play the investigators use hypnotic regression to try to find out what happened

Next episode looks good

Somehow they traveled 5 1/2 years forward in time in an instant (from their point of view). That would explain why they did not age, but it does not explain the voices in their heads.

It also doesn't explain the researcher's discovery of the genetic markers in their blood. Maybe it has something to do with the 'vitamin shots' they got from the government upon their return.

Hypnotism was discredited long ago. Witnesses who have been hypnotized are considered unreliable and no longer used in court. Spooks might play by different rules.

Thier not going to explain those things ... this way it keeps everyone guessing and talking about it.

Manifest Scores Full Season Order at NBC!
Manifest will take flight for a few weeks longer at NBC.

The Peacock network has handed a three-episode back order to the new drama series, making for a total first season consisting of 16 episodes.

The backorder comes just four episodes into Manifest Season 1, which has solidified itself as a strong performer in the ratings. Manifest Season 1 Episode 1 debuted to 10.4 million total viewers and a 2.2 rating among adults 18-49 back in September.

That just means they have episodes to tease us with ... as in not having any from Mid December till March, like other GOOD shows have done .... if they do that with this show, they deserve to lose fans ....

I'd hope that NBC, orders additional episodes to make it a 22 episode season.

They've already done that since last week for New Amsterdam, IMO I think Manifest deserves a 22 episode season 1 too.

What i'm getting tired of with NBC is that they've had big breaks or short seasons in some of the shows that I got hooked on, that happened to me with Blacklist, having long breaks and Timeless with short seasons.

I read that season 6 of The Blacklist is starting later so that it can run straight through with no breaks.

These are the reasons that Sci-fi shows fail on network tv.
